Monitoring Wood Degradation during Weathering by Cellulose Crystallinity

TL;DR: In this article, the degree of crystallinity of cellulose was used for assessing the degradation level of coated and uncoated samples of pine wood after weathering, and the experimental results proved that the proposed method may be a very useful tool for a rapid and accurate estimation of wood exposed to weathering.
Journal ArticleDOI

Photocatalytic degradation of 4-nitrophenol in aqueous suspension by using polycrystalline TiO2 impregnated with functionalized Cu(II)-porphyrin or Cu(II)-phthalocyanine

TL;DR: In this paper, the photocatalytic activity of polycrystalline TiO2 samples impregnated with functionalized Cu(II)- or metal-free porphyrins has been investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Innovative supercritical CO2 extraction of lycopene from tomato in the presence of vegetable oil as co-solvent

TL;DR: In this article, an innovative process for the extraction of lycopene from tomato using supercritical carbon dioxide in the presence of vegetable oil as co-solvent was described, and the results showed that the amount of extractable Lycopene depends on the experimental conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Degradation of 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) using Fe-TiO2 as a heterogeneous photo-Fenton catalyst.

TL;DR: Photocatalytic degradation of 4-nitrophenol was investigated using Fe-doped TiO(2) catalysts under UV light irradiation in aqueous dispersions in the presence of H(2), and it was observed that catalytic behavior could be reproduced in consecutive experiments without a considerable decrease of the UV/Fe-TiO( 2)/H(2).
Journal ArticleDOI

Efficient degradation of 4-nitrophenol by using functionalized porphyrin-TiO2 photocatalysts under visible irradiation

TL;DR: In this paper, the photocatalytic activity of polycrystalline TiO2 samples impregnated with H2Pp(a), H2pp(b), CuPp (a), and CuPm(b) as sensitizers has been investigated by carrying out the photo-degradation of 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) as a probe reaction in aqueous suspension and under visible light.
