Denosumab in Postmenopausal Women with Low Bone Mineral Density
Michael R. McClung,E. Michael Lewiecki,Stanley B. Cohen,Michael A. Bolognese,Grattan Woodson,Alfred H. Moffett,Munro Peacock,Paul D. Miller,Samuel N. Lederman,Charles H. Chesnut,Douglas Lain,Alan Kivitz,Donna Holloway,Charlie Zhang,Mark C. Peterson,Pirow J. Bekker +15 more
TL;DR: The efficacy and safety of subcutaneously administered denosumab were evaluated in postmenopausal women with low bone mineral density and changes in bone turnover were assessed by measurement of serum and urine telopeptides and bone-specific alkaline p...

Denosumab in postmenopausal women with low bone mineral density
Michael R. McClung,E. Michael Lewiecki,Stanley B. Cohen,Michael A. Bolognese,Grattan Woodson,Alfred H. Moffett,Munro Peacock,Paul D. Miller,Samuel N. Lederman,Charles H. Chesnut,Douglas Lain,Alan Kivitz,Donna Holloway,Charlie Zhang,Mark C. Peterson,Pirow J. Bekker +15 more
TL;DR: In this article, the effects of subcutaneously administered denosumab over 12 months in 412 postmenopausal women aged up to 80 years with low bone mineral density (BMD) defined as a T score of -1.8 to -4.5 at the proximal femur.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of Bazedoxifene on BMD and Bone Turnover in Postmenopausal Women: 2‐Yr Results of a Randomized, Double‐Blind, Placebo‐, and Active‐Controlled Study
Paul D. Miller,Arkadi Chines,Claus Christiansen,Hans Christian Hoeck,David L. Kendler,E. Michael Lewiecki,Grattan Woodson,Amy B. Levine,Ginger D. Constantine,Pierre D. Delmas +9 more
TL;DR: Bazedoxifene prevented bone loss, reduced bone turnover, and was well tolerated in early postmenopausal women with normal or low BMD in a 2‐yr phase III study.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of denosumab on bone histomorphometry: the FREEDOM and STAND studies.
Ian R. Reid,Paul D. Miller,Jacques P. Brown,David L. Kendler,Astrid Fahrleitner-Pammer,Ivo Valter,Katre Maasalu,Michael A. Bolognese,Grattan Woodson,Henry G. Bone,Beiying Ding,Rachel B. Wagman,Javier San Martin,Michael S. Ominsky,David W. Dempster +14 more
TL;DR: Denosumab markedly reduces bone turnover and also reduces fracture numbers, and indices of bone turnover tended to be lower in the denosumAB group than in the alendronate group.
Journal ArticleDOI
Dual X-Ray Absorptiometry T-Score Concordance and Discordance Between Hip and Spine Measurement Sites
TL;DR: It was shown that while T-score concordance is most commonly observed, minor discordance is seen in about two out of every five patients tested with DXA between the spine and hip sites.
