Journal ArticleDOI
The plasmacytoid carcinoma of the bladder--rare variant of aggressive urothelial carcinoma.
Bastian Keck,Robert Stoehr,Sven Wach,Anja Rogler,Ferdinand Hofstaedter,Jan Lehmann,Rodolfo Montironi,Mathilde Sibonye,H.-M. Fritsche,Antonio Lopez-Beltran,Jonathan I. Epstein,Bernd Wullich,Arndt Hartmann +12 more
TL;DR: PUC is an aggressive variant of bladder cancer with molecular features of advanced bladder cancer and evidence of WNT pathway activation in some of the cases.
Journal ArticleDOI
Plasmacytoid urothelial carcinoma of the bladder: histological and clinical features of 5 cases.
TL;DR: The data raise the possibility that the loss of E-cadherin expression is a prerequisite for plasmacytoid urothelial carcinoma.
Journal ArticleDOI
Body mass index has no impact on sperm quality but on reproductive hormones levels
Badereddin Mohamad Al-Ali,T. Gutschi,Karl Pummer,Richard Zigeuner,Sabine Brookman-May,W.F. Wieland,H.-M. Fritsche,Atiqullah Aziz +7 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that BMI has no significant impact on sperm quality parameters, however, serum levels of LH, T and PRL were significantly influenced by BMI.
Journal ArticleDOI
Preoperative anemia is associated with adverse outcome in patients with urothelial carcinoma of the bladder following radical cystectomy.
Michael Gierth,Roman Mayr,Atiqullah Aziz,S. Krieger,Bernd Wullich,Armin Pycha,Michele Lodde,U. Salvadori,Johannes Bründl,H.-M. Fritsche,Ferdinand Hofstädter,M. T. Pawlik,Wolfgang Otto,M. May,Max Bürger,S. Denzinger +15 more
TL;DR: PA is significantly associated with worse oncological outcome in patients undergoing RC, and this emphasizes the importance of early diagnosis and correction of anemia and implementation of alternative methods of blood volume management.
Journal ArticleDOI
The effect of intra- and postoperative allogenic blood transfusion on patients’ survival undergoing radical cystectomy for urothelial carcinoma of the bladder
Michael Gierth,Atiqullah Aziz,H.-M. Fritsche,Max Bürger,Wolfgang Otto,Florian Zeman,M. T. Pawlik,Ernil Hansen,Matthias May,S. Denzinger +9 more
TL;DR: It is found that ABT and the number of PRBC transfused are associated with poor prognosis for UCB patients undergoing RC, whereas preoperative anemia had no influence on survival.
