Compact XFEL and AMO sciences: SACLA and SCSS

TL;DR: The concept, design and performance of Japan's compact free-electron laser (FEL) facilities, the SPring-8 Compact SASE Source test accelerator (SCSS) and SPring 8 Angstrom Compact free electron LAser (SACLA), and their applications in mainly atomic, molecular and optical science are reviewed in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Extreme ultraviolet free electron laser seeded by high-order harmonic

TL;DR: In this article, the 13th harmonic of a Ti:sapphire (TiS) laser in the extreme ultraviolet region, which was efficiently generated with a loose focusing geometry, was injected as a seeding source to a 250-MeV free-electron-laser (FEL) amplifier.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Temporal overlapping for HHG seeded EUV-FEL operation by using EOS-based timing-drift controlling system

TL;DR: In this article, the higher-order harmonic (HH) seeded FEL operation at the fundamental wavelength of 61.2 nm using a seeding source of a HH pulses from Ti:sapphire laser at the SPring-8 Compact SASE Source (SCSS) test accelerator was reported.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

EUV-FEL seeded by high-order harmonic

TL;DR: In this article, a seeded FEL radiation in the EUV region at 61.2 nm with the 13th high-order harmonic beam was demonstrated and the single-peak spectra with drastic enhancements of intensity by nearly three-orders of magnitude.
