Journal ArticleDOI

Ear asymmetry for the perception of monaurally presented words accompanied by binaural white noise

TL;DR: Both experiments revealed a small but statistically significant right ear advantage and no interactions were found between the degree of ear asymmetry and the imageability or age of acquisition of the words used.
Journal ArticleDOI

Exploring a neural-network account of age-of-acquisition effects using repetition priming of faces.

TL;DR: Two single-stage accounts are considered and evidence is discussed how this evidence is supportive of the notion that AoA, frequency, and priming all have effects at a common and single stage during face processing.
Journal ArticleDOI

Relative suppression of magical thinking: a transcranial magnetic stimulation study.

TL;DR: Single-pulse transcranial magnetic stimulation was used to stimulate either the left or right lateral temporal areas, or the vertex, of 12 healthy participants while they were required to indicate if they had "detected" pictures, claimed to be present by the experimenters, in visual noise.
Journal ArticleDOI

Remembering pictures of real and unreal faces: Some practical and theoretical considerations.

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of lines on faces upon recognition memory were explored and the results showed that unlined faces were recognized more readily than those with the same lines representing the feature boundaries of Photofit faces.
