Journal ArticleDOI
Surface properties of oxidized and aminated multi-walled carbon nanotubes
Wellington Marcos da Silva,Hélio Ribeiro,Luciana M. Seara,Hállen D.R. Calado,Andre S. Ferlauto,Roberto M. Paniago,Cristiano F. Leite,Glaura G. Silva +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of chemical modification by acid treatment followed by triethylenetetramine functionalization on the surface of multi-walled carbon nanotubes was evaluated, both qualitative and quantitatively.
Journal ArticleDOI
Metal complexes of 2-benzoylpyridine-derived thiosemicarbazones: structural, electrochemical and biological studies
Ricardo F. F. da Costa,Anayive P. Rebolledo,Tulio Matencio,Hállen D.R. Calado,José D. Ardisson,Maria Esperanza Cortés,Bernardo L. Rodrigues,Heloisa Beraldo +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the crystal structure of 2-benzoylpyridine-N(4)-methyl thiosemicarbazone (H2Bz4Me) was determined.
Journal ArticleDOI
Multifunctional nanocomposites based on tetraethylenepentamine-modified graphene oxide/epoxy
Hélio Ribeiro,Wellington Marcos da Silva,Juliana Cardoso Neves,Hállen D.R. Calado,Roberto M. Paniago,Luciana M. Seara,Denise das Mercês Camarano,Glaura G. Silva +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a few-layer graphene oxide (GO) was modified with tetraethylenepentamine (GO-TEPA) in a reaction assisted by microwave radiation, and the effect of fillers on the morphology of cryofractured regions of epoxy matrix was observed through electron microscopy images.
Journal ArticleDOI
Glass transition improvement in epoxy/graphene composites
Hélio Ribeiro,Wellington Marcos da Silva,Marco-Tulio F. Rodrigues,Juliana Cardoso Neves,Roberto M. Paniago,Cristiano Fantini,Hállen D.R. Calado,Luciana M. Seara,Glaura G. Silva +8 more
TL;DR: Graphene oxide nanoplatelets (GO) were prepared from expanded graphite (EG) and functionalized with triethylenetetramine (GO-TETA).
Journal ArticleDOI
Physicochemical study of floranol, its copper(II) and iron(III) complexes, and their inhibitory effect on LDL oxidation.
Françoise Vasconcelos Botelho,Jacqueline I. Alvarez-Leite,Virginia S. Lemos,Adriano Monteiro de Castro Pimenta,Hállen D.R. Calado,Tulio Matencio,Cristiano T. Miranda,Elene C. Pereira-Maia +7 more
TL;DR: Results indicate that floranol can efficiently bind Cu(II) and Fe(III) ions thus preventing their effect on LDL oxidation, and copper and iron reduction is less favorable in the presence of flor ethanol.
