Journal ArticleDOI

The wide pharmacological versatility of semicarbazones, thiosemicarba-zones and their metal complexes.

TL;DR: The more significant bioactivities of a variety of semicarbazones (anti-protozoa, anticonvulsant) and thiosemicarbazone and their metal complexes are reviewed together with proposed mechanisms of action and structure-activity relationships.
Journal ArticleDOI

Iron(III)-adriamycin and Iron(III)-daunorubicin complexes: physicochemical characteristics, interaction with DNA, and antitumor activity.

TL;DR: Using potentiometric and spectroscopic measurements, it is shown that adriamycin and daunorubicin form two well-defined species with Fe(III), which can be formulated as respectively Fe(HAd)3 and Fe( HDr)3.
Journal ArticleDOI

Copper(II) and zinc(II) complexes with 2-benzoylpyridine-methyl hydrazone

TL;DR: In this paper, the crystal structures of 2-Benzoylpyridine-methyl hydrazone (HBzMe) have been determined and its copper(II) [Cu(Bzme)Cl2] (1) and zinc(II] [Zn(HBzME)Cl 2] (2) complexes have been obtained.
Journal ArticleDOI

Tin(IV) complexes of 2‐benzoylpyridine N(4)‐phenyl‐thiosemicarbazone: spectral characterization, structural studies and antifungal activity

TL;DR: In this paper, three tin-IV complexes of 2-benzoylpyridine N(4)-phenylthiosemicarbazone (H2Bz4Ph) were prepared: [Sn(L)Cl3] (1), [BuSnCl2] (2) and [(Bu)2SnCl] (3), where L stands for the anionic ligand formed upon complexation with deprotonation and release of HCl.
