Journal ArticleDOI

Low-potential nickel(III,II) complexes: new systems based on tetradentate amidate-thiolate ligands and the influence of ligand structure on potentials in relation to the nickel site in [NiFe]-hydrogenases

TL;DR: In a continuing study of Ni II,III complexes with low redox potentials that are of possible relevance to the nickel site in [NiFe]-hydrogenases, Ni II complexes of the tetraanions of the amide-thiol ligands N, N'-ethylenebis (2-mercaptoacetamide) N,N'-1,2-phenylenebis (1, 2)-phenylene bis (2mercaptoisobutyramide) have been prepared.
Journal ArticleDOI

Desulfovibrio vulgaris hydrogenase: a nonheme iron enzyme lacking nickel that exhibits anomalous EPR and Mössbauer spectra

TL;DR: A purification procedure for the periplasmic hydrogenase from Desulfovibrio vulgaris ( Hildenborough, National Collection of Industrial Bacteria 8303) is reported and indicates that the majority of the iron atoms are bound in the form of iron- sulfur clusters.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evidence for nickel and a three-iron center in the hydrogenase of Desulfovibrio desulfuricans.

TL;DR: Hydrogenase from Desulfovibrio desulfuricans grown in unenriched and in enriched 61Ni and 57Fe media has been purified to apparent homogeneity, indicating that both enzymes have common metallic centers.
Journal ArticleDOI

First Isolation and Structural Characterization of a Nickel(III) Complex Containing Aliphatic Thiolate Donors.

TL;DR: The nickel(III) complex anion [Ni(phmi)]- (phmi is the tetraanion of N,N'-1,2-phenylenebis(2-methyl-2-sulfanylpropionamide) has now been isolated-as PPh4 salt-and structurally characterized.
