Gregory K. Mulvey,Yun Wang,Zhenqiu Lin,Oliver J. Wang,Jersey Chen,Patricia S. Keenan,Elizabeth E. Drye,Saif S. Rathore,Sharon-Lise T. Normand,Harlan M. Krumholz +9 more
TL;DR: Hospitals ranked by U.S. News & World Report as “America’s Best Hospitals” in “Heart & Heart Surgery” are more likely than nonranked hospitals to have a significantly lower than expected 30-day mortality rate, but there was much overlap in performance.

Differences in Patient Survival After Acute Myocardial Infarction by Hospital Capability of Performing Percutaneous Coronary Intervention: Implications for Regionalization
Jersey Chen,Harlan M. Krumholz,Yun Wang,Jeptha P. Curtis,Saif S. Rathore,Joseph S. Ross,Sharon-Lise T. Normand,Geoffrey C. Schreiner,Gregory K. Mulvey,Brahmajee K. Nallamothu +9 more
TL;DR: The magnitude of benefit from comprehensively regionalizing AMI care to PCI hospitals appears to vary greatly across HRRs, and these findings support a tailored regionalization policy that targets areas with the greatest outcome differences between PCI and local non-PCI hospitals.

Effects of Mobile Text Messaging on Glycemic Control in Patients With Coronary Heart Disease and Diabetes Mellitus: A Randomized Clinical Trial
Xiqian Huo,Harlan M. Krumholz,Xueke Bai,Erica S. Spatz,Qinglan Ding,Paul Horak,Weigang Zhao,Qiuhong Gong,Haibo Zhang,Xiaofang Yan,Ying Sun,Jiamin Liu,Xuekun Wu,Wenchi Guan,Xiuling Wang,Jing Li,Xi Li,John A. Spertus,Frederick A. Masoudi,Xin Zheng +19 more
TL;DR: A text message intervention resulted in better glycemic control in patients with diabetes mellitus and coronary heart disease and the results suggest that a simple, culturally sensitive mobile text messaging program may provide an effective and feasible way to improve disease self-management.
