Assessing the long-term impact of conservation agriculture on wheat-based systems in Tunisia using APSIM simulations under a climate change context.

TL;DR: Evaluating the potential of CA to adapt wheat-based-systems to climate change in Tunisia found that the sustainable production of durum wheat under climate change conditions in Tunisia is possible through the adoption of ZT and ZT-RR practices in both sub-humid and semi-arid areas.
Journal ArticleDOI

Marginal Water Productivity of Irrigated Durum Wheat in Semi-Arid Tunisia

TL;DR: A production function is developed, in which the durum wheat irrigation revenue of farmers per hectare is expressed in terms of the used water volume in addition to other production factors, which shows that most of the farmers in the study area do not apply good practices with respect to irrigation scheduling and irrigation doses.
Journal ArticleDOI

Water Use Efficiency of Durum Wheat (Triticum durum Desf) under Deficit Irrigation

TL;DR: Results showed that the maximum water consumption was observed at anthesis and grain filling stages, and the water use efficiency of total dry matter (WUE-TDM) gradually decreased when irrigation levels increased.
Journal ArticleDOI

Deficit Irrigation of Durum Wheat (Triticum durum Desf): Effects on Total Dry Matter Production, Light Interception and Radiation Use Efficiency Under Different Nitrogen Rates

TL;DR: In this article, three irrigations treatments (D1, D2 and D3) and four nitrogen rates (N1, N2, N3 and N4) were applied to Durum wheat under field conditions in a semi-arid zone of Tunisia.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of Tillage, Previous Crop, and N Fertilization on Agronomic and Economic Performances of Durum Wheat (Triticum durum Desf.) under Rainfed Semi-Arid Environment

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of the tillage practice, previous crop, and nitrogen (N) fertilization rate on the agronomic and economic performances of rainfed durum wheat in a semi-arid environment in Tunisia were evaluated.
