Declining Use of Radiotherapy for Adverse Features After Radical Prostatectomy: Results From the National Cancer Data Base.
TL;DR: Postoperative RT use for localized PCa in patients with adverse pathologic features is declining in the United States, and patients treated at community cancer programs, those with locally advanced disease and positive margins, and those with a high Gleason score were more likely to receive postoperative radiotherapy.
Journal ArticleDOI

Stacey A. Fedewa,Ella A. Kazerooni,Jamie L. Studts,Robert A. Smith,Priti Bandi,Ann Goding Sauer,Megan M. Cotter,Helmneh M. Sineshaw,Ahmedin Jemal,Gerard A. Silvestri +9 more
TL;DR: Fewer than 1 in 20 eligible adults received LCS nationally, and uptake varied widely across states, so LCS rates were not aligned with lung cancer burden across states.
Journal ArticleDOI

Helmneh M. Sineshaw,Mia M. Gaudet,Elizabeth Ward,W. Dana Flanders,W. Dana Flanders,Carol DeSantis,Chun Chieh Lin,Ahmedin Jemal +7 more

TL;DR: In 2017, most oncologists in the United States were using NGS tests to guide treatment decisions for their patients, and more research is needed to establish the clinical usefulness of these tests and to develop evidence-based clinical guidelines for their use in practice.
Journal ArticleDOI

Helmneh M. Sineshaw,Kimmie Ng,W. Dana Flanders,W. Dana Flanders,Otis W. Brawley,Ahmedin Jemal +5 more
TL;DR: It is found that insurance coverage differences accounted for approximately one half of the disparity in survival rate of black vs white patients with CRC, 18-64 years old; tumor characteristics accounted for a quarter of the gap.
