Superconductors and cryogenics for future communication systems
Matthias Klauda,T. Kasser,Bernd Mayer,Christian Neumann,F. Schnell,B.A. Aminov,A. Baumfalk,H. Chaloupka,S. Kolesov,Helmut Piel,Nigel Klein,Stefan Schornstein,M. Bareiss +12 more
TL;DR: In this article, the feasibility of superconductor technology for applications in communication satellites and base transceiver stations (BTSs) for terrestrial mobile communication is demonstrated in the framework of a German research program on "superconductors and ceramics for future communication technology".
Journal ArticleDOI
Microwave surface resistance of epitaxial YBa2Cu3O7 thin films at 18.7 GHz measured by a dielectric resonator technique
Nigel Klein,U. Dahne,Ulrich Poppe,N. Tellmann,K. Urban,S. Orbach,S. Hensen,G. Müller,Helmut Piel +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, a dielectric resonator was used for highly sensitive measurements of the temperature dependence of the microwave surface resistance R[sub s] of 1 x 1 cm[sup 2] superconducting films at 18.7 GHz and 87 GHz.
Journal ArticleDOI
Miniaturized high-temperature superconductor microstrip patch antenna
TL;DR: In this article, the antennas were fabricated from YBa/sub 2/Cu/sub 3/O/sub 7- delta thin films epitaxially grown on single-crystalline LaAlO/Sub 3/ substrates by pulsed excimer laser ablation or by high-pressure oxygen DC sputtering.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evidence for a two-band behavior of MgB2 from point-contact and tunneling spectroscopy
Ya. G. Ponomarev,S. A. Kuzmichev,M. G. Mikheev,M. V. Sudakova,S. N. Tchesnokov,N. Z. Timergaleev,A. V. Yarigin,Evgenii G. Maksimov,S.I. Krasnosvobodtsev,A.V. Varlashkin,Matthias Hein,G. Müller,Helmut Piel,L.G. Sevastyanova,O. V. Kravchenko,K. P. Burdina,Boris M. Bulychev +16 more
TL;DR: In this article, two types of break-junction contacts have been exploited on the same samples, which demonstrated tunnel contact like (SIS) and point contact-like (SnS) behavior.
Journal ArticleDOI
Survey of microwave surface impedance data of high-Tc superconductors - Evidence for nonpairing charge carriers
TL;DR: In this article, the microwave surface impedance of oxide superconductors has been measured at many laboratories around the world and a survey of their data between 100 MHz and 150 GHz for polycrystalline as well as single crystalline samples is given.
