Journal ArticleDOI

Synthetic chalcones, flavanones, and flavones as antitumoral agents: biological evaluation and structure-activity relationships.

TL;DR: A series of synthetic chalcones, flavanones, and flavones has been synthesized and evaluated for antitumor activity against the human kidney carcinoma cells TK-10, human mammary adenocarcinoma cells MCF-7 (estrogen receptor-positive), and human colon adenOCarcinomas cells HT-29.
Journal ArticleDOI

Novel antitrypanosomal agents based on palladium nitrofurylthiosemicarbazone complexes: DNA and redox metabolism as potential therapeutic targets.

TL;DR: Although the complexes showed strong DNA binding, all data strongly suggest that the main trypanocidal mechanism of action is the production of oxidative stress as a result of their bioreduction and extensive redox cycling.
Journal ArticleDOI

Copper(II) and zinc(II) complexes with 2-benzoylpyridine-methyl hydrazone

TL;DR: In this paper, the crystal structures of 2-Benzoylpyridine-methyl hydrazone (HBzMe) have been determined and its copper(II) [Cu(Bzme)Cl2] (1) and zinc(II] [Zn(HBzME)Cl 2] (2) complexes have been obtained.
Journal ArticleDOI

Copper(II) and zinc(II) complexes with 2-formylpyridine-derived hydrazones

TL;DR: In this article, the crystal structures of 2-formylpyridine-para-chloro-phenyl hydrazone (H2FopClPh) and H2FOPNO2Ph were obtained, as well as their copper and zinc complexes.
