Journal ArticleDOI
Quantity and location of aortic valve complex calcification predicts severity and location of paravalvular regurgitation and frequency of post-dilation after balloon-expandable transcatheter aortic valve replacement.
Omar K. Khalique,Rebecca T. Hahn,Hemal Gada,Tamim Nazif,Torsten Vahl,Isaac George,Bindu Kalesan,Molly Forster,Mathew B. Williams,Martin B. Leon,Andrew J. Einstein,Todd Pulerwitz,Gregory D.N. Pearson,Susheel Kodali +13 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors evaluated the impact of aortic valve calcification on paravalvular regurgitation (PVR) and rates of post-dilation (PD) immediately after transcatheter valve replacement (TAVR).
Journal ArticleDOI
5-Year Results of a Randomized Comparison of XIENCE V Everolimus-Eluting and TAXUS Paclitaxel-Eluting Stents: Final Results From the SPIRIT III Trial (Clinical Evaluation of the XIENCE V Everolimus Eluting Coronary Stent System in the Treatment of Patients With De Novo Native Coronary Artery Lesions)
Hemal Gada,Ajay J. Kirtane,William G. Newman,Mark Sanz,James B. Hermiller,Kenneth W. Mahaffey,Donald E. Cutlip,Krishnankutty Sudhir,Liming Hou,Kai Koo,Gregg W. Stone +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors evaluated the long-term safety and efficacy of everolimus-eluting stents (EES) and paclitaxel-ELuting stent (PES) in patients with obstructive coronary artery disease.
Journal ArticleDOI
Costs of Periprocedural Complications in Patients Treated With Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement Results From the Placement of Aortic Transcatheter Valve Trial
Suzanne V. Arnold,Yang Lei,Matthew R. Reynolds,Elizabeth A. Magnuson,Rakesh M. Suri,E. Murat Tuzcu,John L. Petersen,Pamela S. Douglas,Lars G. Svensson,Hemal Gada,Vinod H. Thourani,Susheel Kodali,Michael J. Mack,Martin B. Leon,David Cohen +14 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of periprocedural complications on in-hospital costs and length of stay of transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Meta-Analysis of Trials on Mortality After Percutaneous Coronary Intervention Compared With Medical Therapy in Patients With Stable Coronary Heart Disease and Objective Evidence of Myocardial Ischemia
Hemal Gada,Ajay J. Kirtane,Dean J. Kereiakes,Sripal Bangalore,Jeffrey W. Moses,Philippe Généreux,Roxana Mehran,George Dangas,Martin B. Leon,Gregg W. Stone +9 more
TL;DR: In this meta-analysis of published RCTs, PCI was shown to have a mortality benefit over MT in patients with SIHD and objective assessment of ischemia using noninvasive imaging or its invasive equivalent.
Journal ArticleDOI
Challenges and Future Opportunities for Transcatheter Aortic Valve Therapy
TL;DR: TAVR is a worthwhile addition to the armamentarium of therapies for patients with AS, and new TAVR systems have been developed which should further optimize clinical outcomes, by reducing device profile, providing retrievable features, and preventing para-valvular regurgitation.
