Proceedings ArticleDOI
Quantum Electrodynamic Shifts of Rydberg Energy Levels
TL;DR: In the non-resonant regime, it has been shown that a controlled-Not gate can provide an extremely sensitive tool to perform an ideal QND measurement of the photon number in the cavity, as well as to characterise completely the cavity field by measurement of Wigner distribution as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Laser-induced fluorescence study of the reactions of fluorine atoms with iodomethane and iodotrifluoromethane
Role of the Absolutephase in Photoionization with Fewcycle Laser Pulses
M. Kakehata,Roka Ueda,H. Takada,K. Tor,M. Obara,B. Sheehy,R. Lafon,M. Widmer,B. Walker,F. Grasbon,Herbert Walther,Max-Planck-lnstitutfr Quantenoptik,M. Nisoli,Salvatore Stagira,E. Priori,S. De Silvestri,Satoki Kawanishi,Hideo Yoshimi,Yuichi Takushima,Kazuro Kikuchi +19 more
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Multiple-charged optical vortex solitons: existence and stability in saturable Kerr-type nonlinear media
TL;DR: In this article, the saturation of the nonlinearity is shown to be able to slow down the decay of multiple charged dark beams at an intermediate evolution stage and to prevent their ultimate decay into charge-one OVSs.
Book ChapterDOI
Scattering of NO Molecules from Surfaces
F. Frenkel,J. Häger,W. Krieger,Herbert Walther,Gerhard Ertl,H. Robota,J. Segner,W. Vielhaber +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the rotational temperature of the molecules leaving the surfaces can be described by a Boltzmann distribution with a rotation temperature Trot, even if the molecules had a very long residence time (≧ 10−4 s).
