Note on the Preceding Paper

TL;DR: In this paper, the modified Maxwell equations are written now Fvμ:v = 4 πJμ - λKμ, when equations (52) on p. 324 of our paper (1959) should be replaced by E 00 = λ /8 π K 2, E 11 = E 22 = E 33 = κ/8π e2 t/T K2.
Journal ArticleDOI

A model of discontinuous change in a three-component community

TL;DR: In this article, a model that exhibits discontinuous change was developed that uses a nutrient-limited algal population grazed by herbivores, themselves the prey of fish, and showed how, under suitable conditions, a small increase in nutrient supply can totally change the stable state of this ecosystem.
Journal ArticleDOI

On the generation of waves on shallow water by wind

TL;DR: In this article, the theory of the formation of water waves is amplified by adding a term for the dissipation in the boundary layer, and an inequality from which values are derived for the minimum wind velocity necessary to excite waves and for the length of the waves thus generated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Radiation from Accelerated Charges

TL;DR: In this article, the classical problem of the field due to a uniformly accelerated charge is studied through applying a limiting process to a special case of acceleration recently discussed by Das (1980), and the crucial nature of the choice of the root of the quartic for the retarded time is illuminated, and the Bondi-Gold solution is derived by this physically significant approach.
