Journal ArticleDOI

The beneficial role of simultaneous splenectomy in living donor liver transplantation in patients with small-for-size graft

TL;DR: Simultaneous splenectomy is favorable for overcoming SFS graft syndrome in LDLT patients with a graft weight‐to‐standard liver weight (GW‐SLW) ratio of 40% or less.
Journal ArticleDOI

Long-term results of balloon-occluded retrograde transvenous obliteration for gastric variceal bleeding and risky gastric varices: a 10-year experience.

TL;DR: This work investigated the long‐term effects of B‐RTO on rebleeding, prevention of first bleeding, mortality and occurrence of risky esophageal varices (EVx).
Journal ArticleDOI

Gene therapy for gastric ulcers with single local injection of naked DNA encoding VEGF and angiopoietin-1☆☆☆

TL;DR: VEGF and Ang1 gene therapy, with limited duration of target gene expression, significantly accelerates gastric ulcer healing and inhibition of accelerated healing by a neutralizing anti-VEGF antibody indicates an essential role for V EGF and enhanced angiogenesis in ulcers healing.
Journal ArticleDOI

von Hippel Lindau tumor suppressor and HIF-1alpha: new targets of NSAIDs inhibition of hypoxia-induced angiogenesis.

TL;DR: Results indicate that NSAIDs inhibit hypoxia‐induced angiogenesis in endothelial cells by inhibiting VEGF and Flt‐1 expression through increased VHL expression and the resulting ubiquitination and degradation of HIF‐1α.
Journal ArticleDOI

Features of second primary cancer in patients with gastric cancer.

TL;DR: Since gastric cancer patients may develop synchronous and metachronous second cancers in other organs, effective preoperative and postoperative diagnostic modalities both for second primary cancers, as well as for the recurrence of Gastric cancer, need to be developed.
