Remarkable improvement of NOx–PM trade-off in a diesel engine by means of bioethanol and EGR

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of bioethanol-gas oil blends and exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) on PM-NOx trade-off have been investigated focusing on ignition delay, premixed combustion, diffusion combustion, smoke, NOx and thermal efficiency.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

The Effect of Pilot Injection on Combustion in a Turbocharged D. I. Diesel Engine

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of pilot injection on combustion was investigated experimentally in a turbocharged direct injection diesel engine, where the pilot injection quantity was varied by changing the seat diameter of the Doge plunger installed in the newly developed pilot injector.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of EGR and Preheating on Natural Gas Combustion Assisted with Gas-Oil in a Diesel Engine

TL;DR: In this paper, the trade-off between smoke and NOx without deteriorating fuel consumption was investigated in a four cylinder naturally-aspirated DI diesel engine, where natural gas was charged homogeneously into the intake air and was burned igniting by a small amount of gas oil injection.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Suppression of Rotating Stall by Wall Roughness Control in Vaneless Diffusers of Centrifugal Blowers

TL;DR: In this paper, Wang et al. showed that the wall shear component normal to the main flow direction markedly decreases the skewed angle of the 3D boundary layer, and results in suppression of the three-dimensional separation.
