Journal ArticleDOI
Dengue virus genomic variation associated with mosquito adaptation defines the pattern of viral non-coding RNAs and fitness in human cells
Claudia Veronica Filomatori,Juan Manuel Carballeda,Sergio Villordo,Sebastian Aguirre,Horacio M. Pallarés,Ana M. Maestre,Irma Sanchez-Vargas,Carol D. Blair,Cintia Fabri,Maria A. Morales,Ana Fernandez-Sesma,Andrea V. Gamarnik +11 more
TL;DR: A novel mechanism by which dengue virus evolved an RNA structure that is under strong selective pressure in the two hosts, as regulator of non-coding RNA accumulation and viral fitness is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Sputnik V Vaccine Elicits Seroconversion and Neutralizing Capacity to SARS CoV-2 after a Single Dose.
Andrés Hugo Rossi,Diego Sebastian Ojeda,Augusto Varese,Lautaro Sanchez,María Mora González López Ledesma,Ignacio Mazzitelli,Anabel Alvarez Juliá,Santiago Oviedo Rouco,Horacio M. Pallarés,Guadalupe S. Costa Navarro,Natali B. Rasetto,Corina I. García,Shirley D. Wenker,Lila Y. Ramis,Magalí G. Bialer,María José de Leone,C. Esteban Hernando,Santiago Sosa,Luciana Bianchimano,Antonella S. Rios,Maria Soledad Treffinger Cienfuegos,Julio J. Caramelo,Yesica Longueira,Yesica Longueira,Natalia Laufer,Natalia Laufer,Diego E. Alvarez,Jorge Carradori,Dariana Pedrozza,Alejandra Rima,Cecilia Echegoyen,Regina Ercole,Paula Gelpi,Susana Marchetti,Martin Zubieta,Guillermo Horacio Docena,Nicolás Kreplak,Marcelo J. Yanovsky,Jorge Geffner,Marina Pifano,Andrea V. Gamarnik +40 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors evaluated SARS-CoV-2-specific antibody responses after Sputnik V vaccination of healthcare workers in Argentina, measuring IgG anti-spike titers and neutralizing capacity after one and two doses in a cohort of naive or previously infected volunteers.
Journal ArticleDOI
Emergency response for evaluating SARS-CoV-2 immune status, seroprevalence and convalescent plasma in Argentina.
Diego Sebastian Ojeda,María Mora González López Ledesma,Horacio M. Pallarés,Guadalupe S. Costa Navarro,Lautaro Sanchez,Beatriz Perazzi,Sergio Villordo,Diego E. Alvarez,Marcela Echavarria,Kasopefoluwa Y. Oguntuyo,Christian S. Stevens,Benhur Lee,Jorge Carradori,Julio J. Caramelo,Marcelo J. Yanovsky,Andrea V. Gamarnik +15 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors report the emergency development and application of a robust serologic test to evaluate acute and convalescent antibody responses to SARS-CoV-2 in Argentina.
Journal ArticleDOI
RNA structure duplication in the dengue virus 3′ UTR: redundancy or host specificity?
Luana de Borba,Sergio Villordo,Franco Leonel Marsico,Juan Manuel Carballeda,Claudia Veronica Filomatori,Leopoldo German Gebhard,Horacio M. Pallarés,Sebastian Lequime,Sebastian Lequime,Sebastian Lequime,Louis Lambrechts,Louis Lambrechts,Irma Sanchez Vargas,Carol D. Blair,Andrea V. Gamarnik +14 more
TL;DR: A model in which a functional diversification of duplicated RNA elements in the viral 3′ untranslated region (UTR) is driven by host-specific requirements is supported, and a pseudoknot formed within DB2 competes with long-range RNA-RNA interactions that are necessary for minus-strand RNA synthesis.
Posted ContentDOI
Emergency Response for Evaluating SARS-CoV-2 Immune Status, Seroprevalence and Convalescent Plasma in Argentina
Diego Sebastian Ojeda,María Mora González López Ledesma,Horacio M. Pallarés,Guadalupe S. Costa Navarro,Lautaro Sanchez,Beatriz Perazzi,Sergio Villordo,Diego E. Alvarez,Marcela Echavarria,Kasopefoluwa Y. Oguntuyo,Christian S. Stevens,Benhur Lee,Jorge Carradori,Julio J. Caramelo,Marcelo J. Yanovsky,Andrea V. Gamarnik +15 more
TL;DR: The importance of providing a robust and specific serologic assay for generating new information about antibody kinetics in infected individuals and mitigation policies to cope with pandemic needs is demonstrated.
