MiR-21 induced angiogenesis through AKT and ERK activation and HIF-1α expression.
Ling-Zhi Liu,Chongyong Li,Qi Chen,Yi Jing,Richard L. Carpenter,Yue Jiang,Hsiang-Fu Kung,Lihui Lai,Bing-Hua Jiang,Bing-Hua Jiang +9 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that miR-21 induces tumor angiogenesis through targeting PTEN, leading to activate AKT and ERK1/2 signaling pathways, and thereby enhancing Hif-1α and VEGF expression; HIF-1 α is a key downstream target of miR -21 in regulating tumorAngiogenesis.
Journal ArticleDOI
MiR-26a Inhibits Cell Growth and Tumorigenesis of Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma through Repression of EZH2
Juan Lu,Ming-Liang He,Lu Wang,Ying Chen,Xiong Liu,Qi Dong,Yangchao Chen,Ying Peng,Kaitai Yao,Hsiang-Fu Kung,Xiang-Ping Li +10 more
TL;DR: The results indicate that miR-26a functions as a growth-suppressive miRNA in NPC, and that its suppressive effects are mediated chiefly by repressing EZH2 expression.
Journal ArticleDOI
The putative tumour suppressor microRNA-124 modulates hepatocellular carcinoma cell aggressiveness by repressing ROCK2 and EZH2.
Fang Zheng,Yi Ji Liao,Mu Yan Cai,Yanhui Liu,Tian Hao Liu,Shu Peng Chen,Xiu-Wu Bian,Xin Yuan Guan,Marie C. Lin,Yi Xin Zeng,Hsiang-Fu Kung,Hsiang-Fu Kung,Dan Xie +12 more
TL;DR: Findings suggest that miR-124 plays a critical role in regulating cytoskeletal events and epithelial–mesenchymal cell transition and inhibits the invasive and/or metastatic potential of HCC, probably by its direct target on ROCK2 and EZH2 genes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Transformation of NIH 3T3 cells by microinjection of Ha- ras p21 protein
Dennis W. Stacey,Hsiang-Fu Kung +1 more
TL;DR: The injection of purified Ha-ras p21 protein into NIH 3T3 cells is reported and it is shown that the purified protein itself is sufficient to induce a transformed morphology and establishes an assay for the protein which depends on its activity within a living cell.
Journal ArticleDOI
Analysis of miR-195 and miR-497 expression, regulation and role in breast cancer
Dan Li,Yulan Zhao,Changxing Liu,Xiaona Chen,Yanting Qi,Yue Jiang,Chao Zou,Xiaolong Zhang,Shunying Liu,Xuejing Wang,Dan Zhao,Qiang Sun,Zhenbing Zeng,Andreas Dress,Marie C.M. Lin,Hsiang-Fu Kung,Hallgeir Rui,Ling-Zhi Liu,Feng Mao,Bing-Hua Jiang,Lihui Lai +20 more
TL;DR: The data imply that both miR-195 and miR,497 play important inhibitory roles in breast cancer malignancy and may be the potential therapeutic and diagnostic targets.
