The possible charge structure of thunderstorm and lightning discharges in northeastern verge of Qinghai Tibetan Plateau

TL;DR: In this article, a comprehensive observation on thunderstorm and natural lightning discharge was conducted in the northeastern verge of Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau (101°35′E, 37°33′N, 2650 m asl).
Journal ArticleDOI

Optical and electrical characteristics of in-cloud discharge activity and downward leaders in positive cloud-to-ground lightning flashes

TL;DR: The characteristics of five downward positive cloud-to-ground (CG) flashes were analyzed based on images from a high-speed video camera and electric field (E-field) changes from slow antenna and fast antenna systems as mentioned in this paper.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Research on natural cloud-to-ground lightning flashes over a chinese inland plateau

TL;DR: In this paper, a total of 17 cloud-to-ground (CG) flashes were recorded by a high-speed video camera in 7 thunderstorm systems in China during the summers of 2012 and 2013, field observations of lightning processes were conducted to investigate the characteristics of lightning discharges over a Chinese inland plateau.

The Optical Characteristics of Cloud-to-ground Lightning Flashes in Pingliang of China ∗

TL;DR: For the large positive charge region under the thundercloud base, Wang et al. as mentioned in this paper conducted the experiments during the summer of 2012 and 2013 in Pingliang, Gansu province, China, to invest the characteristics of lightning processes.
