Hugues Fouotsa,Hugues Fouotsa,Alain Meli Lannang,Alain Meli Lannang,Céline Djama Mbazoa,Saima Rasheed,Bishnu P. Marasini,Zulfiqar Ali,Krishna Prasad Devkota,Augustin Ephrem Kengfack,Farzana Shaheen,Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary,Norbert Sewald +12 more
TL;DR: One new xanthone, caroxanthone together with six known xanthones, 4-prenyl-2-(3,7-dimethyl-2,6-octadienyl)-1,3,5,8-tetrahydroxyxanthone (2), smeathxanthones A ( 3 ), gartanin ( 4 ), euxanthone( 5 ), 8-hydroxycudraxanthone G ( 6 ) and morusignin I ( 7 ) were isolated from the stem bark of Garcinia nob
Journal ArticleDOI
Antibacterial constituents of three Cameroonian medicinal plants: Garcinia nobilis, Oricia suaveolens and Balsamocitrus camerunensis.
Hugues Fouotsa,Armelle T. Mbaveng,Armelle T. Mbaveng,Céline Djama Mbazoa,Augustin Ephrem Nkengfack,Shaheen Farzana,Choudhary Muhammad Iqbal,J.J.M. Meyer,Namrita Lall,Victor Kuete +9 more
TL;DR: The results of the present investigation provide evidence that the crude extract from G. nobilis, O. suaveolens and B. camerunensis as well as some of their compounds, and mostly compound 2 (isolated from the most active extract GNB), could be considered as interesting natural antibacterial products.
Journal ArticleDOI
Voatriafricanines A and B, Trimeric Vobasine-Aspidosperma-Aspidosperma Alkaloids from Voacanga africana.
Hugues Fouotsa,Hugues Fouotsa,Hugues Fouotsa,Pierre Le Pogam,Pierre Mkounga,Alain Meli Lannang,Guillaume Bernadat,Jérôme Vanheuverzwijn,Zhiyu Zhou,Karine Leblanc,Somia Rharrabti,Augustin Ephrem Nkengfack,Jean-François Gallard,Véronique Fontaine,Franck Meyer,Erwan Poupon,Mehdi A. Beniddir +16 more
TL;DR: Voatriafricanines A and B (1 and 2) were isolated from the stem barks of Voacanga africana, guided by a molecular networking strategy as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pyrrovobasine, hybrid alkylated pyrraline monoterpene indole alkaloid pseudodimer discovered using a combination of mass spectral and NMR-based machine learning annotations.

TL;DR: In this article, a vobasine-tryptamine-based monoterpene indole pseudodimer was isolated from the stem bark of Voacanga africana.
Journal ArticleDOI
Antiproliferative activity of a new xanthone derivative from leaves of Garcinia nobilis Engl
Hugues Fouotsa,Hugues Fouotsa,Jean Paul Dzoyem,Jean Paul Dzoyem,Alain Meli Lannang,Hans-Georg Stammler,Céline Djama Mbazoa,Michel Luhmer,Augustin Ephrem Nkengfack,Eric Allémann,Florence Delie,Franck Meyer,Norbert Sewald +12 more
TL;DR: All compounds showed an antiproliferative activity with an IC50 value down to ∼11 µM for isogarcinol, and were evaluated against the human breast cancer cell line MCF-7.
