Journal ArticleDOI
Virtual discovery of melatonin receptor ligands to modulate circadian rhythms
Reed M. Stein,Hye Jin Kang,John D. McCorvy,John D. McCorvy,Grant C. Glatfelter,Grant C. Glatfelter,Anthony Jones,Tao Che,Samuel T. Slocum,Xi Ping Huang,Olena Savych,Yurii S. Moroz,Benjamin Stauch,Linda C. Johansson,Vadim Cherezov,Terry P. Kenakin,John J. Irwin,Brian K. Shoichet,Bryan L. Roth,Margarita L. Dubocovich +19 more
TL;DR: This study illustrates the opportunities for modulating melatonin receptor biology through MT 1 -selective ligands and for the discovery of previously undescribed, in vivo active chemotypes from structure-based screens of diverse, ultralarge libraries.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of Ketamine and Ketamine Metabolites on Evoked Striatal Dopamine Release, Dopamine Receptors, and Monoamine Transporters
Adem Can,Panos Zanos,Ruin Moaddel,Hye Jin Kang,Katinia S. S. Dossou,Irving W. Wainer,Joseph F. Cheer,Douglas O. Frost,Xi Ping Huang,Todd D. Gould +9 more
TL;DR: Neither ketamine’s enantiomers nor its metabolites had affinity for DA receptors or the DA, noradrenaline, and serotonin transporters (up to 10 μM), suggesting that neither the side effects nor antidepressant actions of ketamine or ketamine metabolites are associated with direct effects on mesolimbic DAergic neurotransmission.
Journal ArticleDOI
Structure, function and pharmacology of human itch GPCRs.
Can Cao,Hye Jin Kang,Isha Singh,He Chen,Chengwei Zhang,Wenlei Ye,Byron W. Hayes,Jing Liu,Ryan H. Gumpper,Brian J. Bender,Samuel T. Slocum,Brian E. Krumm,Katherine Lansu,John D. McCorvy,John D. McCorvy,Wesley K. Kroeze,Justin G. English,Justin G. English,Jeffrey F. DiBerto,Reid H.J. Olsen,Xi Ping Huang,Shicheng Zhang,Yongfeng Liu,Kuglae Kim,Joel Karpiak,Lily Yeh Jan,Lily Yeh Jan,Soman N. Abraham,Soman N. Abraham,Jian Jin,Brian K. Shoichet,Jonathan F. Fay,Bryan L. Roth +32 more
TL;DR: The MRGPRX family of receptors as mentioned in this paper is a family of mas-related G-protein-coupled receptors that have evolved relatively recently and are key physiological and pathological mediators of itch and related mast cell-mediated hypersensitivity reactions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Protamine is an antagonist of apelin receptor, and its activity is reversed by heparin.
Sophie Le Gonidec,Carline Chaves-Almagro,Yushi Bai,Hye Jin Kang,Allyson C. Smith,Estelle Wanecq,Xi Ping Huang,Hervé Prats,Bernard Knibiehler,Bryan L. Roth,Larry S. Barak,Marc G. Caron,Philippe Valet,Yves Audigier,Bernard Masri +14 more
TL;DR: A cell‐based screening assay that uses fluorescence microscopy to identify apelin receptor (APJ) antagonists is developed and demonstrates a new pharmacologic property of protamine—blockade of APJ—that could explain some adverse effects observed in protamine‐treated patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis and Preliminary Studies of a Novel Negative Allosteric Modulator, 7-((2,5-Dioxopyrrolidin-1-yl)methyl)-4-(2-fluoro-4-[11C]methoxyphenyl) quinoline-2-carboxamide, for Imaging of Metabotropic Glutamate Receptor 2
Xiaofei Zhang,Xiaofei Zhang,Katsushi Kumata,Tomoteru Yamasaki,Ran Cheng,Akiko Hatori,Longle Ma,Yiding Zhang,Lin Xie,Lu Wang,Hye Jin Kang,Douglas J. Sheffler,Nicholas D. P. Cosford,Ming-Rong Zhang,Steven H. Liang +14 more
TL;DR: The design and synthesis of a radiolabeled negative allosteric modulator (NAM) for mGlu2 PET tracer development based on a quinoline 2-carboxamide scaffold is reported, and [11C]QCA is a chemical probe that provides the basis for the development of a new generation mGLU2PET tracers.
