Journal ArticleDOI

Interactions between serotypes of dengue highlight epidemiological impact of cross-immunity

TL;DR: This is the first quantitative evidence that short-term cross-protection exists since human experimental infection studies performed in the 1950s and will impact strategies for designing dengue vaccine studies, future multi-Strain modelling efforts, and the understanding of evolutionary pressures in multi-strain disease systems.
Journal ArticleDOI

Serotype-specific differences in the risk of dengue hemorrhagic fever: an analysis of data collected in Bangkok, Thailand from 1994 to 2006.

TL;DR: DENV-2 appears to be marginally associated with more severe dengue disease as evidenced by a significant association with DHF grade I when compared to DENV-1, and non-significant trends with other grades of DHF are found.
Journal ArticleDOI

Serotype-specific dengue virus circulation and dengue disease in Bangkok, Thailand from 1973 to 2010

TL;DR: The findings illustrate the uniqueness of each serotype in producing epidemics and severe disease and underscore the importance of long-term surveillance of dengue serotypes in understanding the epidemiology of these viruses.
Journal ArticleDOI

Detection of Zika Virus Infection in Thailand, 2012–2014

TL;DR: Seven cases of acute ZIKV infection in Thai residents across the country confirmed by molecular or serological testing including sequence data provide evidence that ZikV is widespread throughout Thailand.
