TL;DR: In this paper, a novel Schiff base, 3-(((4-chlorophenyl)imino)methyl)benzene-1,2-diol (HL1), was successfully synthesized along with a structurally similar Schiff base 3 -((( 4-bromophenyl),imino),methyl) benzene 1,2 -diol(HL2) both the Schiff bases were used to synthesize their zinc (II) and cobalt (II), complexes.

TL;DR: Increase in Bowman's space, degeneration of glomeruli, shrinkage of proximal tubule cells with pycnotic nuclei, increased tubular lumen and increased in intratubular hematopoietic tissue were the most significant changes observed in fish kidney after nitrate exposure.
