Hypoglycemic, lipid-lowering and metabolic regulation activities of metforminium decavanadate (H2Metf)3 [V10O28]·8H2O using hypercaloric-induced carbohydrate and lipid deregulation in Wistar rats as biological model

TL;DR: The metforminium decavanadate, abbreviated as Metf-V10O28, was shown to have pharmacological potential as a hypoglycemic, lipid-lowering and metabolic regulator, since the resulting compound made of the two components with antidiabetic activities, reduces both dosage and time of administration.
Journal ArticleDOI

Simplified speciation and improved phosphodiesterolytic activity of hydroxo complexes of trivalent lanthanides in aqueous DMSO.

TL;DR: The reaction rate observed in the presence of 1 mM metal in neutral solution surpasses the rate of background hydrolysis by a factor of 10(12)-10(13) for BNPP and 10(10) for HPNPP.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evaluating transition state structures of vanadium-phosphatase protein complexes using shape analysis.

TL;DR: The umbrella distortions of the trigonal bipyramid are identified as being the most relevant types of transition state structures for the phosphoryl group transfer reactions for phosphatases and this may be related to the possibility that vanadium is an inhibitor for enzymes that support both exploded and five-coordinate transition states.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis of Metforminium(2+) Decavanadates – Crystal Structures and Solid‐State Characterization

TL;DR: In this article, three new compounds were formed between decavanadate and diprotonated metformin (H2Metf) at different pH values and in the presence or absence of ammonium cations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Size and shape trump charge in interactions of oxovanadates with self-assembled interfaces: application of continuous shape measure analysis to the decavanadate anion

TL;DR: BarBaruah et al. as mentioned in this paper employed 51V NMR spectroscopy, dynamic light scattering and continuous shape measure analysis to probe the solvation of two polyoxometalates, decavanadate and monomolybdononadate, encapsulated in reverse micelles.
