Journal ArticleDOI
Mitochondrial and endoplasmic reticulum stress-induced apoptotic pathways are activated by 5-aminolevulinic acid-based photodynamic therapy in HL60 leukemia cells.
Dana Grebenova,Katerina Kuzelova,Karel Smetana,Michaela Pluskalová,Hana Cajthamlová,Iuri Marinov,Ota Fuchs,Josef Soucek,Petr Jarolim,Zbynek Hrkal +9 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that, in the in vitro model, ALA-based photodynamic treatment initiates several signaling processes in HL60 cells that lead to rapidly progressing apoptosis, which is followed by slow necrosis, which suggests that ALa-PDT activates the mitochondrial apoptotic pathway.
Journal ArticleDOI
Early apoptotic features of K562 cell death induced by 5-aminolaevulinic acid-based photodynamic therapy.
TL;DR: It is suggested that the high level of the antiapoptotic heat-shock proteins HSP70 and HSP27 found by us in the K562 cells is responsible for the inhibition of the apoptotic process upstream of caspases activation.
Journal ArticleDOI
ICCS/ESCCA consensus guidelines to detect GPI-deficient cells in paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH) and related disorders part 2 - reagent selection and assay optimization for high-sensitivity testing.
D. Robert Sutherland,Andrea Illingworth,Iuri Marinov,Fernando Ortiz,John Andreasen,Dan Payne,Paul K. Wallace,Michael Keeney +7 more
TL;DR: This section (Part 2) of the updated ICCS PNH Consensus Guidelines will focus on specific instrument setup for these PNH assays, the identification and proper testing of appropriate antibody conjugates and combinations therof, and basic assay design.
Journal ArticleDOI
Immunosuppressive activity of bovine seminal ribonuclease and its mode of action.
TL;DR: The results indicate that the mode of action of BS RNase on activated T and B lymphocytes is based mainly on the suppressed expression of receptors for interleukin-2-alpha-chain and transferrin.
Journal ArticleDOI
Intra- and interlaboratory variability of paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria testing by flow cytometry following the 2012 Practical Guidelines for high-sensitivity paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria testing.
Iuri Marinov,Martina Kohoutová,Vlasta Tkáčová,Daniel Lysák,Monika Holubova,Olga Stehlíková,Tatiana Železníková,Darja Žontar,Andrea Illingworth +8 more
TL;DR: The Practical Guidelines for high‐sensitivity detection of paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH) clones by flow cytometry (FCM) containing concise protocols for PNH testing are published.
