TL;DR: This CARO scope of practice guideline for S BRT is specific to liver, lung and spine tumours and outlines the basic principles of appropriate quality assurance specific to SBRT.
Journal ArticleDOI
Stereotactic body radiotherapy versus conventional external beam radiotherapy in patients with painful spinal metastases: an open-label, multicentre, randomised, controlled, phase 2/3 trial
Arjun Sahgal,Sten Myrehaug,Shankar Siva,Giuseppina Laura Masucci,Pejman Jabehdar Maralani,Michael Brundage,J. Butler,Edward Chow,Michael G. Fehlings,Mathew Foote,Zsolt Gabos,Jeffrey Greenspoon,Marc Kerba,Young Lee,Mitchell Liu,Stanley K. Liu,Isabelle Thibault,Rebecca Wong,Maaike Hum,Keyue Ding,Wendy R. Parulekar,Trial Investigators +21 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors compared the performance of stereotactic body radiotherapy and conventional external beam radiotherapy in patients with painful spinal metastasis and concluded that stereotactically dose-escalated radiotherapy is appropriate in the palliative setting for symptom control.
Journal ArticleDOI
Phase III randomized study: oral pilocarpine versus submandibular salivary gland transfer protocol for the management of radiation-induced xerostomia.
Naresh Jha,Hadi Seikaly,Jeffrey R. Harris,David Williams,Khalil Sultanem,Michael P. Hier,Sunita Ghosh,Martin J. Black,J. Butler,Donna Sutherland,Paul Kerr,Pam Barnaby +11 more
TL;DR: Xerostomia is a serious morbidity of radiation treatment in head and neck cancer and should not be taken as a cause for concern.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of Standard Radiotherapy With Cisplatin vs Accelerated Radiotherapy With Panitumumab in Locoregionally Advanced Squamous Cell Head and Neck Carcinoma: A Randomized Clinical Trial
Lillian L. Siu,John Waldron,Bingshu E. Chen,Eric Winquist,J. Wright,Abdenour Nabid,John H. Hay,Jolie Ringash,Geoffrey Liu,Ana P. Johnson,George Shenouda,Martin Chasen,Andrew Pearce,J. Butler,S. Breen,Eric X. Chen,Thomas J. Fitzgerald,Timothy Childs,Alexander Montenegro,Brian O'Sullivan,Wendy R. Parulekar +20 more
TL;DR: The PFS of panitumumab plus accelerated-fractionation RT was not superior to cisplatin plus standard-fractation RT in LA-SCCHN and noninferiority was not proven, and despite having negative results, HN.6 has contributed important data regarding disease control and toxic effects of these treatment strategies.
Journal ArticleDOI
