Journal ArticleDOI
Analysis of historic bursts and burst detection in water supply areas of different size
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors studied hydraulic data and customer contact records of 44 real pipe bursts for a better understanding of the phenomena and found that most bursts were reported to the water company shortly after the beginning, and the negative consequences of the bursts were limited.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Comparison of water demand models: prp and simdeum applied to milford, ohio, data
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors compared the Poisson Rectangular Pulse (PRP) model and SIMDEUM with measured indoor water demands from 21 homes in Milford, Ohio.
Journal ArticleDOI
Advanced control of a water supply system: a case study
TL;DR: In this article, the authors compared two periods of three weeks of conventional and advanced control and found that with advanced control the variation in the production flow was 83% lower, and the pump pressure of the clear water pumps was 29% lower.
Journal ArticleDOI
Detecting Pipe Bursts Using Heuristic and CUSUM Methods
Mark Bakker,Mark Bakker,Donghwi Jung,J.H.G. Vreeburg,M. van de Roer,Kevin Lansey,Luuk C. Rietveld +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, a heuristic burst detection method, which continuously compares forecasted and measured values of the water demand, was proposed to minimize the negative consequences of pipe bursts, an early detection is necessary.
