Journal ArticleDOI

Serial monitoring of Aspergillus antigen in the early diagnosis of invasive aspergillosis. Preliminary investigations with two examples.

TL;DR: Results confirm that the sandwich ELISA appears to be useful for the early diagnosis of invasive aspergillosis and the value of the test for monitoring the response to antifungal treatment remains to be established in prospective trials.
Journal Article

A scheme for daily monitoring of oral mucositis in allogeneic BMT recipients.

TL;DR: The scheme offers the potential for exploring causal relationships between mucosal damage, granulocytopenia, fever and bacteraemia and can be included as an independent measure in studies of prevention and therapy of complications related to mucositis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Role of curcumin and the inhibition of NF-kappaB in the onset of chemotherapy-induced mucosal barrier injury.

TL;DR: The results show that the inhibition of NF-κB does not increase intestinal side effects of the anticancer treatment, suggesting a safe use of curcumin and CAPE in combination with antic cancer treatment.
Journal ArticleDOI

In-vitro activities of amphotericin B, itraconazole and voriconazole against 150 clinical and environmental Aspergillus fumigatus isolates.

TL;DR: In-vitro resistance of A. fumigatus to the tested antifungal agents was uncommon and the MICs of itraconazole were half those of voriconazole (P < 0.01).
