Circulating Candida-specific anti-mannan antibodies precede invasive candidiasis in patients undergoing myelo-ablative chemotherapy
F. M. Verduyn Lunel,J.P. Donnelly,H.A.L. van der Lee,Nicole M. A. Blijlevens,Paul E. Verweij +4 more
TL;DR: The kinetics of circulating Candida mannan and anti-mannan antibodies were studied in consecutive plasma samples of 21 patients with microbiologically proven invasive candidiasis and 30 control patients who underwent myelo-ablative chemotherapy to suggest that patients with multiple episodes of neutropenia have been previously exposed to Candida and that the presence of anti- Mannan antibodies in these patients might be associated with an increased risk of developing clinically manifestvasive candidiasis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Can anything be done about oral mucositis
Journal ArticleDOI
Epidemiology of invasive aspergillosis and triazole-resistant Aspergillus fumigatus in patients with haematological malignancies: a single-centre retrospective cohort study.
Pieter P. A. Lestrade,W.J.F.M. van der Velden,F Bouwman,F J Stoop,Nicole M. A. Blijlevens,Willem J. G. Melchers,Paul E. Verweij,J.P. Donnelly +7 more
TL;DR: The overall frequency of voriconazole-resistant IA among patients at high risk was low and the rate of triazole resistance may have been underestimated by the low detection rate based on recovery of A. fumigatus.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cyclosporine short infusion and C2 monitoring in haematopoietic stem cell transplant recipients.
Mathijs P. Hendriks,Nicole M. A. Blijlevens,Anton Schattenberg,David M. Burger,J.P. Donnelly +4 more
TL;DR: CsA infusions in 2 h during transplant and perform C2 monitoring to obtain therapeutic C2 levels ⩾800 μg/l are recommended.
Journal ArticleDOI

Steffi Rocchi,Emeline Scherer,Carlo Mengoli,Alexandre Alanio,Alexandre Alanio,Françoise Botterel,Marie-Elisabeth Bougnoux,Marie-Elisabeth Bougnoux,Stéphane Bretagne,Stéphane Bretagne,Massimo Cogliati,Marjorie Cornu,Frédéric Dalle,Céline Damiani,Julie Denis,S Fuchs,Maud Gits-Muselli,Ferry Hagen,Catriona Halliday,R Hare,Xavier Iriart,C Klaassen,Michaela Lackner,Martina Lengerová,Valérie Letscher-Bru,Florent Morio,Céline Nourrisson,Wilfried Posch,Boualem Sendid,Jan Springer,Birgit Willinger,P. L. White,Rosemary Ann Barnes,Mario Cruciani,J.P. Donnelly,J. Loeffler,Laurence Millon +36 more
TL;DR: The good reproducibility and performance demonstrated in this study support the use of Mucorales qPCR as part of the diagnostic strategy for mucormycosis.
