Journal ArticleDOI
L-mode radiative plasma edge studies for model validation in ASDEX Upgrade and JET
Leena Aho-Mantila,M. Bernert,J. W. Coenen,R. Fischer,M. Lehnen,C.G. Lowry,S. Marsen,K. McCormick,H. W. Müller,B. Sieglin,M.F. Stamp,M. Wischmeier,Xavier Bonnin,D. P. Coster,D. Reiter,S. Brezinsek +15 more
TL;DR: In this article, a simulation of N 2 seeding at both ASDEX upgrade and JET was conducted for benchmarking the critically important impurity radiation models in edge fluid codes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Numerical simulations of tungsten melt layer erosion caused by J×B force at TEXTOR
TL;DR: In this paper, numerical simulations of tungsten target damage caused by the long-time plasma heat loads supporting the TEXTOR experiments are performed by the MEMOS code, which allows projections of surface damage to be made at ITER and DEMO conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Correlation of microstructural and mechanical properties of K-doped tungsten fibers used as reinforcement of tungsten matrix for high temperature applications
D. Terentyev,W. Van Renterghem,Leandro Paulo De Almeida Reis Tanure,Andrii Dubinko,Johann Riesch,S. Lebediev,T. Khvan,Kim Verbeken,J. W. Coenen,Evgeny E. Zhurkin +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, the role of potassium doping on the modification of the mechanical properties of as-annealed wires was studied, and it was found that K-doping can delay the brittleness induced by heat exposure at least up to 1600°C, while still a strong reduction of the fiber strength was observed in tests performed at elevated temperatures.
Journal ArticleDOI
Spectroscopic determination of inverse photon efficiencies of W atoms in the scrape-off layer of TEXTOR
S. Brezinsek,M. Laengner,J. W. Coenen,M. G. O'Mullane,A. Pospieszczyk,Gennady Sergienko,U. Samm +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, experiments in TEXTOR were carried out to determine effective conversion factors for different WI and WII transitions with the aid of WF6 injection into deuterium scrape-off layer plasmas in the electron temperature T e range between and.
Journal ArticleDOI
Overview of material migration and mixing, fuel retention and cleaning of ITER-like castellated structures in TEXTOR
Andrey Litnovsky,Arkadi Kreter,A. Kirschner,Dmitry Matveev,Dmitry Matveev,S. Brezinsek,G. Serkienko,G. Serkienko,A. Pospieszczyk,B. Schweer,C. Schulz,Oliver Schmitz,J. W. Coenen,U. Samm,K. Krieger,T. Hirai,Birger Emmoth,Marek Rubel,B. Bazylev,Uwe Breuer,A. Stärk,S. Richter,Matthias Komm,Textor Team +23 more
TL;DR: In this article, an overview of experimental and modeling results along with recommendations for PFCs in ITER-like castellated structures are presented. But, there are concerns in particular on retention of codeposited radioactive fuel in the gaps.
