Journal ArticleDOI

Structural requirements for the growth factor activity of the amino-terminal domain of urokinase.

TL;DR: The results demonstrate that the GFD, implicated in binding to the uPA receptor, is also responsible for growth factor like activity in SaOS-2 cells and that the fucosylation at Thr18 within this domain may serve as a molecular trigger in eliciting this response.
Journal ArticleDOI

Paclitaxel at ultra low concentrations inhibits angiogenesis without affecting cellular microtubule assembly.

TL;DR: The data support a clinical application of continuous ultra- low dose paclitaxel to treat cancer and in vitro angiogenesis at low picomolar concentrations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Kringle 5 of Human Plasminogen Induces Apoptosis of Endothelial and Tumor Cells through Surface-Expressed Glucose-Regulated Protein 78

TL;DR: Recombinant K5 is established as an inhibitor of a stress response pathway, which leads to both endothelial and tumor cell apoptosis, and glucose-regulated protein 78 plays a key role in the antiangiogenic and antitumor activity of K5.
