Journal ArticleDOI
Novel DOPO-based flame retardants in high-performance carbon fibre epoxy composites for aviation
Birgit Perret,Bernhard Schartel,Kai Stöß,Michael Ciesielski,Jan Diederichs,Manfred Döring,Johannes Krämer,Volker Altstädt +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, halogen-free, phosphorus-based oligomeric flame retardants are investigated in the commercial epoxy resin RTM6 and ∼70.6% carbon fiber RTM 6 composites with respect to pyrolysis and fire behaviour.
Journal ArticleDOI
A New Halogen‐Free Flame Retardant Based on 9,10‐Dihydro‐9‐oxa‐10‐phosphaphenanthrene‐10‐oxide for Epoxy Resins and their Carbon Fiber Composites for the Automotive and Aviation Industries
Birgit Perret,Bernhard Schartel,Kai Stöß,Michael Ciesielski,Jan Diederichs,Manfred Döring,Johannes Krämer,Volker Altstädt +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, pyrolysis and fire behavior of halogen-free flame-retarded DGEBA/DMC, RTM6 and their corresponding 60 vol.-% carbon fibers composites were investigated.
Advanced Flame-Retardant Epoxy Resins for Composite Materials
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors highlight two different approaches to obtaining phosphorus-modified epoxy materials which are expected to be qualified for high performance printed wiring boards (PWB) and highlight the results obtained by both methods, however, revealed a slight superiority of the application of non-reactive additives in the epoxy system used.
