Journal ArticleDOI
Particle-size dependent heats of adsorption of CO on supported Pd nanoparticles as measured with a single-crystal microcalorimeter
Jan-Henrik Fischer-Wolfarth,Jason A. Farmer,J. Manuel Flores-Camacho,Alexander Genest,Ilya V. Yudanov,Notker Rösch,Charles T. Campbell,Swetlana Schauermann,Hans-Joachim Freund +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of cluster size on the adsorption enthalpy of carbon monoxide on Pd nanoclusters was investigated on a well-ordered Pd(111) film.
Journal ArticleDOI
An improved single crystal adsorption calorimeter for determining gas adsorption and reaction energies on complex model catalysts
Jan-Henrik Fischer-Wolfarth,Jens Hartmann,Jason A. Farmer,J. Manuel Flores-Camacho,Charles T. Campbell,Swetlana Schauermann,Hans-Joachim Freund +6 more
TL;DR: A novel vibrational isolation method for the pyroelectric detector is introduced for the reduction of acoustic noise and the absolute accuracy in energy is within ∼7%-9%.
Journal ArticleDOI
Adsorption energetics of CO on supported Pd nanoparticles as a function of particle size by single crystal microcalorimetry.
J. M. Flores-Camacho,Jan-Henrik Fischer-Wolfarth,Matthias Peter,Charles T. Campbell,Swetlana Schauermann,Hans-Joachim Freund +5 more
TL;DR: The CO adsorption kinetics indicates a strong enhancement of the adsorbate flux onto the metal particles due to a capture zone effect, which involves trapping of adsorbates on the support and diffusion to metal clusters.
