TL;DR: Joint spatial analysis of stressors and ecosystem services can provide a critical foundation for maximizing social and ecological benefits from restoration investments and find that many important areas for fisheries and recreation are subject to high stress, indicating that ecosystem degradation could be threatening key services.

TL;DR: A cumulative stress index is developed by combining the first principal component from each of the five stress categories in the U.S. Great Lakes basin, and strong relationships between the stress measures and characteristics of bird communities, fish communities, and water chemistry measurements from the coastal region are found.

Trends in Temperature, Secchi Depth, and Dissolved Oxygen Depletion Rates in the Central Basin of Lake Erie, 1983–2002
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined temperature trends in a 20-year set of monitoring records collected at multiple deep-water stations in the central basin of Lake Erie and found that the water temperature increased by an average (±SE) of 0.037 ± 0.01°C per year.
