Journal ArticleDOI
Systematic Review: Gastrointestinal Ultrasound Scoring Indices for Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
Thomas M Goodsall,Tran M Nguyen,Claire E Parker,Christopher Ma,Jane M. Andrews,Jane M. Andrews,Vipul Jairath,Robert V Bryant +7 more
TL;DR: Future research should focus on fully validating existing or novel gastrointestinal ultrasound scoring instruments for assessment of Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Performance of risk prediction for inflammatory bowel disease based on genotyping platform and genomic risk score method
Guo-Bo Chen,Sang Hong Lee,Sang Hong Lee,Grant W. Montgomery,Naomi R. Wray,Peter M. Visscher,Richard B. Gearry,Richard B. Gearry,Ian C. Lawrance,Jane M. Andrews,Peter A. Bampton,Gillian Mahy,Sally Bell,Alissa Walsh,Susan J. Connor,Susan J. Connor,Miles P. Sparrow,Lisa Bowdler,Lisa A. Simms,Krupa Krishnaprasad,Graham L. Radford-Smith,Graham L. Radford-Smith,Graham L. Radford-Smith,Gerhard Moser +23 more
TL;DR: The analyses demonstrate that the power of genomic risk prediction for IBD is mainly due to strongly associated SNPs with considerable effect sizes and additional SNPs that are only tagged by high- density GWAS arrays and low or rare-variants over-represented in the high-density region on the Immunochip contribute little to prediction accuracy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Doctor communication quality and Friends' attitudes influence complementary medicine use in inflammatory bowel disease
TL;DR: Data show that physician attention to communication and the patient-doctor relationship is important as these factors influence CAM use, and patient reluctance to discuss CAM with physicians may promote greater reliance on social contacts to influence CAM decisions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Computerised cognitive behavioural therapy for psychological distress in patients with physical illnesses: a systematic review.
Andrew McCombie,Richard B. Gearry,Jane M. Andrews,Jane M. Andrews,Antonina Mikocka-Walus,Roger T. Mulder +5 more
TL;DR: The evidence for CCBT in the treatment of PD in physical illness patients is modest, perhaps due to the seldom use of PD screening, and more robust research designs including longer follow up periods are required.
Journal ArticleDOI
The role of antidepressants in the management of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD): A short report on a clinical case-note audit
Antonina Mikocka-Walus,Antonina Mikocka-Walus,Andrea L. Gordon,Benjamin J. Stewart,Benjamin J. Stewart,Jane M. Andrews,Jane M. Andrews +6 more
TL;DR: Antidepressants are commonly prescribed in IBD patients and appear to be mostly used for functional symptoms, but the current data do not allow us to judge whether they improve IBD disease activity.
