Qualitative data sharing and synthesis for sustainability science
Steven M. Alexander,Steven M. Alexander,Steven M. Alexander,Kristal Jones,Nathan J. Bennett,Nathan J. Bennett,Amber E. Budden,Michael Cox,Mercè Crosas,Edward T. Game,Janis Geary,R. Dean Hardy,R. Dean Hardy,Jay T. Johnson,Sebastian Karcher,Nicole Motzer,Jeremy Pittman,Heather Randell,Heather Randell,Julie A. Silva,Patricia Pinto da Silva,Carly Strasser,Colleen Strawhacker,Andrew Stuhl,Nic Weber +24 more
TL;DR: It is argued that qualitative data present untapped opportunities for sustainability science, and practical pathways to facilitate and realize the benefits from sharing and reusing qualitative data are discussed, and enabling conditions are outlined and recommended.
Journal ArticleDOI
Disease manifestations of Helicobacter pylori infection in Arctic Canada: using epidemiology to address community concerns.
Justin Cheung,Justin Cheung,Karen J. Goodman,Safwat Girgis,Robert J Bailey,Robert J Bailey,John Morse,Richard N. Fedorak,Janis Geary,Katharine Fagan-Garcia,Sander Veldhuyzen van Zanten +10 more
TL;DR: In this population, H pylori-associated gastric histopathology shows a pattern compatible with elevated risk of gastric cancer, demonstrating that local concern about health risks from H plyori is warranted and providing an example of how epidemiological research can address health priorities identified by communities.
Journal ArticleDOI
Balancing openness with Indigenous data sovereignty: An opportunity to leave no one behind in the journey to sequence all of life
Ann M Mc Cartney,Jane Louise Anderson,Libby Liggins,Maui Hudson,Matthew W. Anderson,Ben TeAika,Janis Geary,Robert Cook-Deegan,Hardip R. Patel,Adam M. Phillippy +9 more
TL;DR: The United Nations Convention of Biodiversity aims to develop and adopt a standard policy on access and benefit sharing for sequence information across signatory parties as mentioned in this paper , which will have profound implications on genomics research, requiring a new definition of open data sharing.
Journal ArticleDOI
a randomized controlled trial comparing sequential with triple therapy for Helicobacter pylori in an aboriginal community in the canadian north
Amy L. Morse,Karen J. Goodman,Rachel Munday,Hsiu-Ju Chang,John Morse,Monika Keelan,Janis Geary,Sander Veldhuyzen van Zanten +7 more
TL;DR: Standard PPI-CA treatment is shown to be inadequate for communities such as Aklavik, and additional evidence is needed to confirm that ST is more effective for Arctic Aboriginal communities than the Canadian standard H pylori treatment.
Qualitative data sharing and re-use for socio-environmental systems research: A synthesis of opportunities, challenges, resources and approaches
Kristal Jones,Steven M. Alexander,Nathan J. Bennett,Libby Bishop,Amber E. Budden,Michael Cox,Mercè Crosas,Edward T. Game,Janis Geary,Charlie Hahn,R. Dean Hardy,Jay T. Johnson,Sebastian Karcher,Matt LaFevor,Nicole Motzer,Patricia Pinto da Silva,Jeremy Pittman,Heather Randell,Julie A. Silva,Joseph Smith,Michael Smorul,Carly Strasser,Colleen Strawhacker,Andrew Stuhl,Nicholas Weber,Deborah Winslow +25 more
