A probe indicating intermaterial boundaries

TL;DR: In this article, a method, apparatus and computer program for detecting the locations of boundaries between different materials in a desired measurement volume is described, which uses at least one measuring probe, the electrodes of which are characterized in that they together form an assembly that differs from a straight line.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Identification of Contact Failures in Multi-Layered Composites

TL;DR: In this article, an inverse heat conduction problem is solved within the Bayesian framework, with a Markov chain Monte Carlo method, aiming at the identification of contact failures in composites formed by layers of different materials.
Book ChapterDOI

Optimal control in high intensity focused ultrasound surgery

TL;DR: Two alternative control procedures for thermal dose optimization during ultrasound surgery are presented, where the scanning path between individual foci is optimized in order to decrease the treatment time and the feedforward control is expanded with a feedback controller.
