Journal ArticleDOI
Clinical outcomes of focused ultrasound surgery for the treatment of uterine fibroids
Elizabeth A. Stewart,Jaron Rabinovici,Clare M. Tempany,Yael Inbar,Leslie Regan,Bobbie Gastout,Gina K. Hesley,Hyun Soo Kim,Suzanne Hengst,Wladyslaw M. Gedroye +9 more
TL;DR: MRgFUS treatment results in short-term symptom reduction for women with symptomatic uterine leiomyomas with an excellent safety profile, and the magnitude of improvement was greater than predicted.
Journal ArticleDOI
MRI guidance of focused ultrasound therapy of uterine fibroids: early results
Jonathan T. Hindley,Wladyslaw Gedroyc,Lesley Regan,Elizabeth A. Stewart,Clare M. Tempany,Kullervo Hynnen,Nathan Macdanold,Yael Inbar,Yacov Itzchak,Jaron Rabinovici,Kevin Kim,Jean Francois H. Geschwind,Gina K. Hesley,Brian Gostout,Tillman Ehrenstein,Sylvia Hengst,Miri Sklair-Levy,Asher Shushan,Ferenc A. Jolesz +18 more
TL;DR: This early description of MRI-guided focused ultrasound therapy treatment of fibroids shows that, although the volume reduction is moderate, it correlates with treatment volume and the symptomatic response to this treatment is encouraging.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cancer incidence in a cohort of infertile women
Baruch Modan,Elaine Ron,Liat Lerner-Geva,Tzvia Blumstein,Joseph Menczer,Jaron Rabinovici,Gabriel Oelsner,Laurence S. Freedman,Shlomo Mashiach,Bruno Lunenfeld +9 more
TL;DR: Treatment with ovulation-inducing drugs does not appear to increase the risk for ovarian cancer, but its role cannot be completely excluded, and nulliparity might explain the increased risk of ovarian cancer.
Journal ArticleDOI
Sustained Relief of Leiomyoma Symptoms by Using Focused Ultrasound Surgery
Elizabeth A. Stewart,Bobbie S. Gostout,Jaron Rabinovici,Hyun Soo Kim,Lesley Regan,Clare M. Tempany +5 more
TL;DR: Women undergoing magnetic resonance–guided focused ultrasound surgery for symptomatic uterine leiomyomata have durable symptom relief, as measured by the symptom severity score at 24 months, with significantly greater improvement with more complete ablation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cortical fibrosis and blood-vessels damage in human ovaries exposed to chemotherapy. Potential mechanisms of ovarian injury
Dror Meirow,J. Dor,B. Kaufman,A. Shrim,Jaron Rabinovici,Eyal Schiff,Hila Raanani,Jacob Levron,Eduard Fridman +8 more
TL;DR: Injury to blood vessels and focal ovarian cortical fibrosis are aspects of ovarian damage caused by chemotherapy that indicate a potential additional mechanism of damage to the direct apoptotic effect of chemotherapy on follicles.
