Liposomes: Clinical Applications and Potential for Image-Guided Drug Delivery.
Narottam Lamichhane,Thirupandiyur S. Udayakumar,Warren D. D'Souza,Charles B. Simone,Srinivasa R. Raghavan,Jerimy C. Polf,Javed Mahmood +6 more
TL;DR: Clinical applications of liposomal formulation and their potential imaging properties are reviewed, to enhance therapeutic effectiveness of new and established drugs that are in preclinical and clinical trials.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ectopic bone formation in titanium mesh loaded with bone morphogenetic protein and coated with calcium phosphate.
J.W.M. Vehof,Javed Mahmood,Hiroko Takita,M.A. van 't Hof,Yoshinori Kuboki,Paul H.M. Spauwen,J.A. Jansen +6 more
TL;DR: The results show that the combination of titanium mesh with BMPs can induce ectopic bone formation and that this bone formation seems to be similar to "enchondral" ossification, and a thin calcium phosphate coating can have a beneficial effect on the bone-inducing properties of a scaffold material.
Journal ArticleDOI
Salen Mn Complexes Mitigate Radiation Injury in Normal Tissues
Rosalind A. Rosenthal,Brian L. Fish,Richard P. Hill,Karl Huffman,Zelmira Lazarova,Javed Mahmood,Meetha Medhora,Robert C. Molthen,John E. Moulder,Stephen T. Sonis,Philip J. Tofilon,Susan R. Doctrow +11 more
TL;DR: Salen Mn complexes could be useful to mitigate delayed radiation injury to normal tissues following radiation therapy, accidental exposure, or radiological terrorism, focusing on several tissues of therapeutic interest.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mitigation of radiation-induced lung injury by genistein and EUK-207
Javed Mahmood,Salomeh Jelveh,Victoria L Calveley,Asif Zaidi,Susan R. Doctrow,Richard P. Hill +5 more
TL;DR: Genistein and EUK-207 can provide partial mitigation of radiation-induced lung damage out to at least 28 weeks PI even after cessation of treatment at 14 wks PI.
Journal ArticleDOI
Genistein Can Mitigate the Effect of Radiation on Rat Lung Tissue
Victoria L Calveley,Salomeh Jelveh,Aimee R. Langan,Aimee R. Langan,Javed Mahmood,Ivan Yeung,Ivan Yeung,Jacob Van Dyk,Richard P. Hill,Richard P. Hill +9 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that genistein treatment can provide partial protection against the early (pneumonitis) effects of lung irradiation and reduce the extent of fibrosis, although not sufficiently to prevent lethality at the radiation dose used in this study.
