Synthesis of Enantiopure trans-3,4-Disubstituted Piperidines. An Enantiodivergent Synthesis of (+)- and (−)-Paroxetine

TL;DR: On treatment with lithium alkyl (or aryl) cyanocuprates, these chiral building blocks undergo conjugate addition to give enantiopure trans-3,4-substituted 2-piperidone derivatives in high yield and stereoselectivity.
Journal ArticleDOI

Microarray analysis of endothelial differentially expressed genes in liver of cirrhotic rats.

TL;DR: The collective expression changes observed within some functional groups of genes indicate that LECs in cirrhotic livers may contribute to lymphangiogenesis, enhancement of fibrogenesis and inflammatory processes, changes in cell-cell interaction with up-regulation of adherens junction proteins, and alterations in the intrahepatic vascular tone because of the down- regulation of genes involved in vasodilatation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Aminoimidazo[1,2-a]pyridines: regioselective synthesis of substituted imidazonaphthyridines, azacarbolines and cyclazines

TL;DR: In this article, the 1,2-or 1,4-addition between amines and α,β-unsaturated aldehydes concerning the pyridine and imidazole moieties is discussed in the light of these results.
Journal Article

Ab initio Study of Naptho-Homologated DNA Bases

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the structure, tautomeric preferences, base-pairing ability, stacking interactions, and HOMO-LUMO gaps of the naphto-bases.
Journal ArticleDOI

SI) An ab initio strategy for handling induction phenomena in metal ion complexes

TL;DR: In this paper, a strategy that incorporates in the macromolecular, non-polarizable CHARMM force field models of atomic charges and polarizabilities determined from high-level quantum mechanical calculations is probed in the paradigmatic case of metal ion complexes.
