Journal ArticleDOI

Clostridiisalibacter paucivorans gen. nov., sp. nov., a novel moderately halophilic bacterium isolated from olive mill wastewater.

TL;DR: Due to its phenotypic and genotypic characteristics, isolate 37HS60(T) is proposed as a novel species of a new genus, Clostridiisalibacter paucivorans gen. nov., sp.nov.
Journal ArticleDOI

Melghirimyces algeriensis gen. nov., sp. nov., a member of the family Thermoactinomycetaceae, isolated from a salt lake.

TL;DR: On the basis of physiological and phylogenetic data, strain NariEX(T) represents a novel species of a new genus of the family Thermoactinomycetaceae for which the name Melghirimyces algeriensis gen. nov., sp.
Journal ArticleDOI

Desulfotomaculum peckii sp. nov., a moderately thermophilic member of the genus Desulfotomaculum, isolated from an upflow anaerobic filter treating abattoir wastewaters.

TL;DR: Phylogenetic analysis of the small-subunit rRNA gene sequence indicated that strain LINDBHT1(T) was affiliated to the genus Desulfotomaculum with the type strains of Desulfotonaculum halophilum and Desulfotomyaculum alkaliphilum as its closest phylogenetic relatives.
Journal ArticleDOI

Archaeoglobus fulgidus and Thermotoga elfii , Thermophilic Isolates from Deep Geothermal Water of the Paris Basin

TL;DR: In spite of similarities in phylogenetic/genetic characteristics and in growth conditions, there are significant phenotypic differences between the isolated archaeal strain and the type strain of A. fulgidus, which could be useful parameters to be studied in the deep aquifers by geomicrobiological laboratories.
Journal ArticleDOI

Virgibacillus natechei sp. nov., A Moderately Halophilic Bacterium Isolated from Sediment of a Saline Lake in Southwest of Algeria

TL;DR: Based on phenotypic, phylogenetic, and taxonomic characteristics, strain FarDT is proposed as a novel species of the genus Virgibacillus within the order Clostridiales, for which the name V. natechei is proposed.
