Journal ArticleDOI
European federation of neurological societies/peripheral nerve society guideline on the use of skin biopsy in the diagnosis of small fiber neuropathy. report of a joint task force of the european fe-deration of neurological societies and the peripheral nerve society
Giuseppe Lauria,Sung-Tsieh Hsieh,Olle Johansson,William R. Kennedy,Jean-Marc Léger,Svein Ivar Mellgren,Maria Nolano,Ingemar S. J. Merkies,Michael Polydefkis,A. G. Smith,Cornelia Sommer,J. Valls-Solé +11 more
TL;DR: Revision of the guidelines on the use of skin biopsy in the diagnosis of peripheral neuropathy, published in 2005, has become appropriate owing to publication of more relevant articles and most of the new studies focused on small fiber neuropathy (SFN).
Journal ArticleDOI
Intravenous immunoglobulin therapy in multifocal motor neuropathy: a double-blind, placebo-controlled study.
Jean-Marc Léger,Bénédicte Chassande,Lucile Musset,Vincent Meininger,Pierre Bouche,Nicole Baumann +5 more
TL;DR: Ig is a promising therapeutic option for multifocal motor neuropathy with persistent conduction block and electrophysiological studies did not show significant differences at month 4 in motor parameters between IVIg patients and placebo patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Characterization of cryoglobulins by immunoblotting.
Lucile Musset,M.-C. Diemert,F Taibi,L Thi Huong Du,Patrice Cacoub,Jean-Marc Léger,G Boissy,O Gaillard,J Galli +8 more
TL;DR: The results confirm the frequency of autoimmune and infectious diseases associated with mixed cryoglobulinemias, whereas a lymphoproliferative syndrome was observed only in cases of cryoglOBulinemia with a monoclonal constituent or a microheterogeneity aspect, which was not always revealed by immunofixation or immunoelectrophoresis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Management of noninfectious mixed cryoglobulinemia vasculitis: data from 242 cases included in the CryoVas survey
Benjamin Terrier,Evguenia Krastinova,Isabelle Marie,David Launay,Adeline Lacraz,P. Belenotti,Luc de Saint-Martin,Thomas Quemeneur,Antoine Huart,Fabrice Bonnet,Guillaume Le Guenno,Jean-Emmanuel Kahn,Olivier Hinschberger,P. Rullier,Elisabeth Diot,Estibaliz Lazaro,Franck Bridoux,Thierry Zenone,Fabrice Carrat,Olivier Hermine,Jean-Marc Léger,Xavier Mariette,Patricia Senet,Emmanuelle Plaisier,Patrice Cacoub +24 more
TL;DR: With the use of Cox-marginal structural models, rituximab plus corticosteroids showed the greater therapeutic efficacy, but this regimen was also associated with severe infections, particularly when high doses of cortICosteroids were used, whereas death rates did not differ between the therapeutic regimens.
Journal ArticleDOI
Follow-up study and response to treatment in 23 patients with Lewis-Sumner syndrome.
Karine Viala,L Renié,Thierry Maisonobe,Anthony Behin,Jean Neil,Jean-Marc Léger,Pierre Bouche +6 more
TL;DR: In some of the patients in this study, LSS evolved into a more diffuse neuropathy sharing similarities with CIDP, while others had a clinical course characterized by a striking multifocal neuropathy, which suggests underlying mechanisms different from C IDP.
