Journal ArticleDOI
Preoperative Circulating Tumor Cell Detection Using the Isolation by Size of Epithelial Tumor Cell Method for Patients with Lung Cancer Is a New Prognostic Biomarker
Véronique Hofman,Christelle Bonnetaud,Marius Ilie,Philippe Vielh,Jean Michel Vignaud,Jean François Fléjou,Sylvie Lantuejoul,E. Piaton,Nadine Mourad,Catherine Butori,Eric Selva,Michel Poudenx,Stéphanie Sibon,Sabrina Kelhef,Nicolas Venissac,Jean-Philippe Jais,Jérôme Mouroux,Thierry Jo Molina,Paul Hofman +18 more
TL;DR: A high percentage of NSCLC patients show preoperative detection of CNHC by the ISET method, and a level of 50 or more CNHCs corresponding to the third quartile was associated with shorter overall and disease-free-survival, independently of disease staging, and with a high risk of recurrence and death in early-stage I + II-resectableNSCLC.
Journal ArticleDOI
SMARCA4 inactivation defines a group of undifferentiated thoracic malignancies transcriptionally related to BAF-deficient sarcomas.
François Le Loarer,François Le Loarer,Sarah Watson,Gaëlle Pierron,Vincent Thomas de Montpréville,Stelly Ballet,Nelly Firmin,Aurélie Auguste,Daniel Pissaloux,Sandrine Boyault,Sandrine Paindavoine,Pierre Joseph Dechelotte,Benjamin Besse,Benjamin Besse,Jean Michel Vignaud,Marie Brevet,Elie Fadel,Wilfrid Richer,Isabelle Treilleux,Julien Masliah-Planchon,Mojgan Devouassoux-Shisheboran,Gérard Zalcman,Yves Allory,Yves Allory,Franck Bourdeaut,Françoise Thivolet-Béjui,Dominique Ranchère-Vince,Nicolas Girard,Sylvie Lantuejoul,Françoise Galateau-Sallé,Jean Michel Coindre,Alexandra Leary,Olivier Delattre,Jean-Yves Blay,Jean-Yves Blay,Franck Tirode +35 more
TL;DR: Gene profiling analyses demonstrated that these tumors were distinct from lung carcinomas but related to MRTs and SCCOHTs, a new category of 'SMARCA4-deficient thoracic sarcomas' as readily recognizable in clinical practice, providing opportunities to tailor their therapeutic management.
Journal ArticleDOI
Expression of Retinoid Receptor Genes and Proteins in Non-Small-Cell Lung Cancer
Evelyne Picard,Carole Seguin,Nathalie Monhoven,Cécile Rochette-Egly,Joëlle Siat,Jacques Borrelly,Yves Martinet,Nadine Martinet,Jean Michel Vignaud +8 more
TL;DR: A large percentage of tumors show a marked decrease in the expression of RARbeta, RARgamma, and RXRbeta as well as a high frequency of LOH at 3p24, which was also observed in non-neoplastic lesions, suggesting that altered retinoid receptor expression may play a role in lung carcinogenesis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cytopathologic detection of circulating tumor cells using the isolation by size of epithelial tumor cell method: promises and pitfalls.
Véronique Hofman,Marius Ilie,Christelle Bonnetaud,Eric Selva,Elodie Long,Thierry Jo Molina,Jean Michel Vignaud,Jean François Fléjou,Sylvie Lantuejoul,E. Piaton,Catherine Butori,Nathalie Mourad,Michel Poudenx,Philippe Bahadoran,Stéphanie Sibon,Nicolas Guevara,José Santini,Nicolas Venissac,Jérôme Mouroux,Philippe Vielh,Paul Hofman +20 more
TL;DR: Cytopathologic identification of CTCs using the ISET method represents a promising field for cytopathologists, but the possibility of false-positive diagnosis stresses the need for using ancillary methods to improve this approach.
Journal ArticleDOI
Well-differentiated papillary mesothelioma of the pleura: a series of 24 cases.
Françoise Galateau-Sallé,Jean Michel Vignaud,Louise M. Burke,Allen R. Gibbs,Elisabeth Brambilla,Richard Attanoos,Marcel Goldberg,Guy Launoy +7 more
TL;DR: WDPM is a rare and unusual mesothelial tumor, characterized by a lack of deep invasion and associated with an indolent clinical course and long survival, best considered as a specific clinico-pathologic entity distinct from conventional diffuse malignant mesothelioma.
