Journal ArticleDOI
Discovery of Spatial and Spectral Structure in the X-Ray Emission from the Crab Nebula.
Martin C. Weisskopf,J. Jeff Hester,Allyn F. Tennant,Ronald F. Elsner,Norbert S. Schulz,Herman L. Marshall,Margarita Karovska,Joy S. Nichols,Douglas A. Swartz,Jeffery J. Kolodziejczak,Stephen L. O'Dell +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, Chandra X-ray images with the Advanced CCD Imaging Spectrometer spectroscopy array (ACIS-S) showed a striking richness of Xray structure at a resolution comparable to that of the best ground-based visible-light observations.

TL;DR: Zeroth-order images with the High-Energy Transmission Grating (HETG) readout by the Advanced CCD Imaging Spectrometer spectroscopy array (ACIS-S) show a striking richness of X-ray structure at a resolution comparable to that of the best ground-based visible-light observations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Properties of the Chandra Sources in M81
TL;DR: In this article, Chandra X-Ray Observatory obtained a 50 ks observation of the central region of M81 using the ACIS-S in imaging mode, and the global properties of the 97 X-ray sources detected in the inner 8.3' x 8.5' field of the M81 are examined.
Journal ArticleDOI
Characterization of the inner knot of the crab: the site of the gamma-ray flares?
Alexander Rudy,Dieter Horns,Andrea DeLuca,Jeffery J. Kolodziejczak,Allyn F. Tennant,Yajie Yuan,R. Buehler,Jonathan Arons,Roger Blandford,P. A. Caraveo,Enrico Costa,Stephan Funk,Elizabeth Hays,Andrei Lobanov,Claire E. Max,Michael Mayer,Roberto Mignani,S. L. O'Dell,Roger W. Romani,Marco Tavani,Martin C. Weisskopf +20 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a multwavelength campaign using Keck, HST, and Chandra focusing on a small emitting region, the Crab's inner knot, located a fraction of an arcsecond from the pulsar was reported.
