P690. The Effect of Distinct Components of CBT-I on Slow Wave Power and Energy

TL;DR: In this paper , the relative contributions of distinct components of CBT-I to changes in SWA were investigated and the results showed that CBT improves sleep in older adults with insomnia, including increasing NREM slow-wave activity (SWA) EEG power (0.5 − 4.75Hz).
Journal ArticleDOI

539. Ketamine’s Acute Effects on Negative Brain States are Mediated Through Distinct Altered States in Humans

TL;DR: In this article , the neural mechanisms that contribute to dissociative and other altered states of consciousness (ASCs) remain unknown, while the neural mechanism that induce these experiences remain unknown.
Journal ArticleDOI

P691. Non-Pharmacological Insomnia Therapy is Robust to Co-Occurring Pain in Older Adults

TL;DR: In this paper , the effectiveness of treatments for improving insomnia symptoms may be affected by co-occurring pain, though this currently remains unknown, and it is suggested that co-existing pain worsens insomnia symptoms and increases hyperarousal during sleep.
Journal ArticleDOI

9. A Cognitive Biotype of Depression Linking Symptoms, Behavior Measures, Neural Circuits, and Treatment Outcomes

TL;DR: Cognitive impairment is increasingly understood to principally mediate functional outcomes in major depressive disorder (MDD) as discussed by the authors , and cognitive impairment is commonly misdiagnosed as a symptom of depression.
