Effects of charge density on the hydration of siloxane surface of montmorillonite: A molecular dynamics simulation study

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of charge density of montmorillonite (Mt) on the hydration characteristics of its interlayer spaces, particularly the siloxane surface, were studied using classical molecular dynamics simulations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Remarkable effect of Co substitution in magnetite on the reduction removal of Cr(VI) coupled with aqueous Fe(II): Improvement mechanism and Cr fate

TL;DR: Both the reaction kinetics and the electron transfer efficiency revealed that Co substitution significantly improved the reactivity of Fe3-xCoxO4/Fe(II) towards Cr(VI) reduction, which was ascribed to the presence of the redox pairs Co2+/Co3+ and Fe2-/Fe3+ accelerating electron transfer from the Fe3/xC CoxO4 interface to Cr( VI).
Journal ArticleDOI

Kinetics and mechanisms of the interaction between the calcite (10.4) surface and Cu2+-bearing solutions.

TL;DR: The interactive mechanism between calcite dissolution and the migration of toxic Cu2+ in waterways, provided a practical consideration in dealing with the local environment.

Preparation method for doped graphene-like structural nanometer carbon material

TL;DR: In this article, a disclosed preparation method for a doped graphene-like structural nanometer carbon material comprises the steps: 1) putting montmorillonite into a dye-containing solution to perform sufficient adsorption processing; and 2) successively performing drying, crushing, carbonization, acidification washing and drying on the adsorbing a dye, so as to obtain a product.

Al13-pillared montmorillonite modified by cationic and zwitterionic surfactants: A comparative study

TL;DR: In this article, a series of inorganic-organic montmorillonites (IOMts) were synthesized by modifying polyhydroxy-aluminum (Al 13 )-pillared AlPMts (AlPMts) with the cationic surfactant, hexadecyltrimethyl ammonium bromide (C16), and the zwitterionic surfactants, hexdecyldimethyl(3-sulphonatopropyl)ammonium (Z16).
