Journal ArticleDOI
Salicylic acid alleviates the adverse effects of salt stress in Torreya grandis cv. Merrillii seedlings by activating photosynthesis and enhancing antioxidant systems.
TL;DR: SA induced the salt tolerance and increased the biomass of T. grandis cv.
Journal ArticleDOI
Correlation analysis of mineral element contents and quality traits in milled rice (Oryza stavia L.)
TL;DR: The relationships among potassium (K), calcium (Ca), sodium (Na), magnesium (Mg), iron (Fe), zinc (Zn), copper (Cu), and manganese (Mn) contents in milled rice and cooking quality traits showed that gel consistency (GC) was significantly correlated with K, Cu, and Mn contents of rice.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of Differential Light Quality on Morphology, Photosynthesis, and Antioxidant Enzyme Activity in Camptotheca acuminata Seedlings
Weiwu Yu,Yang Liu,Lili Song,Douglass F. Jacobs,Xuhua Du,Yeqing Ying,Qingsong Shao,Jiasheng Wu +7 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that red light could improve plant growth in C. acuminata seedlings through activating photosynthetic processes, reducing ROS accumulation, and maintaining chloroplast structure.
Journal ArticleDOI
The genomes of pecan and Chinese hickory provide insights into Carya evolution and nut nutrition.
Youjun Huang,Lihong Xiao,Zhongren Zhang,Rui Zhang,Zhengjia Wang,Chunying Huang,Ren Huang,Yumeng Luan,Tongqiang Fan,Jianhua Wang,Chen Shen,Shenmei Zhang,Xinwang Wang,Jennifer J. Randall,Bingsong Zheng,Jiasheng Wu,Qixiang Zhang,Xia Guohua,Chuanmei Xu,Ming Chen,Liangsheng Zhang,Wenkai Jiang,Li-Zhi Gao,Zhiduan Chen,Charles A. Leslie,L. J. Grauke,Jianqin Huang +26 more
TL;DR: Two genome duplication events before the divergence from walnut were found in these species, and key genes in biotic and abiotic tolerance, oil, polyphenols, essential amino acids, and B vitamins were highlighted.
Journal ArticleDOI
Biochar enhances nut quality of Torreya grandis and soil fertility under simulated nitrogen deposition
TL;DR: It is suggested, for the first time, that the ‘win-win’ can be achieved, both nut quality of T. grandis and soil fertility can be improved by biochar application to soils suffering from N deposition.
