Parameter Estimation of Photovoltaic Models via Cuckoo Search

TL;DR: Simulation results and experimental data show that the CS algorithm is capable of obtaining all the parameters with extremely high accuracy, depicted by a low Root-Mean-Squared-Error (RMSE) value.
Journal ArticleDOI

Minimum-Backflow-Power Scheme of DAB-Based Solid-State Transformer With Extended-Phase-Shift Control

TL;DR: A minimum-backflow-power-based extended-phase-shift control strategy is proposed with the determination of optimal phase-shift pairs by using the Karush–Kuhn–Tucker function for various scenarios and shows the proposed control can improve the output power regulation flexibility, minimize the backflow power, and improve the efficiency in wide operating range.
Journal ArticleDOI

Comparative performance on photovoltaic model parameter identification via bio-inspired algorithms

TL;DR: Six bio-inspired optimization algorithms are compared statistically by testing over single-diode models to evaluate their performance in terms of accuracy and stability under uniform solar irradiance and various environmental conditions and indicate that cuckoo search algorithm is more robust and precise among these bio- inspired optimization algorithms.
Journal ArticleDOI

Approximate single-diode photovoltaic model for efficient I-V characteristics estimation.

TL;DR: An approximate single-diode PV model is proposed that enables high-speed predictions for the electrical characteristics of commercial PV modules and reduces the simulation time by approximately 30% in this work.
Journal ArticleDOI

Detection and Assessment of Partial Shading Scenarios on Photovoltaic Strings

TL;DR: Simulation and experimental validation show the feasibility of the proposed method in the face of various environmental conditions and could be used as a preliminary step toward automatic supervision and monitoring PV generation system.
